Torch Song Ecology

Kiyotake is an unemployed actor who struggles to find meaningful work and lacks direction in life. He takes on various part-time jobs to survive and has little in the way of personal connections. After the death of his close friend Shun at age 19, his social circle has remained small, consisting mainly of casual acquaintances. His routine changes when a former acquaintance relocates to the neighborhood and begins living nearby, gradually introducing new dynamics into his isolated existence.
