In the 15th century, during the Hundred Years' War between France and England, Montmorency, a noble's son, studies magic and alchemy at a royal knight training school. After France suffers a major loss at Agincourt, the school is shut down. Stripped of his status and now a fugitive, Montmorency meets a girl named Jehanne in a village.
