A service is offered in which individuals trade a portion of their lives in exchange for forgetting someone. Many take advantage of this to escape painful memories. A broken history is concealed within the hairpin of an imperial noble consort and the spiritual sword of a stylite. When asked if they have someone they wish to forget, one responds that they once did, but no longer remember them.
