Conan and the Detective Boys come to the apartment of Aoki Keiji, an acquaintance of Mitsuhiko. Aoki is making figures with his college club mates Nao Mizuhara, Kazuya Shiraishi, and Saki Midoriyama, and had promised to show them the figures. While Conan and the others are amazed and curious about what is in the room, Shiraishi is not happy. Shiraishi says, "My future depends on it," and seems to be obsessed with the contest in which he plans to submit the figure he is currently working on. Originally, these five members, plus Yuri Kurose, were the circle's friends. Yuri is deceased, and it was her dream to win a prize in the contest she is participating in this time. While the other members were making plans to visit her grave with the figure on the anniversary of her death, the day of the first screening, Shiraishi left the room, spitting out insults to Yuri such as "No matter how much sense you have, it is meaningless if you are dead.
