Tsuboguchi remarks that Harada-sensei had been studying the old Arata too well, as the new Arata slowly puts the pressure on Harada-sensei. Meanwhile, Megumu also takes the lead against Inokuma. Inokuma wonders if her time really has passed, when Megumu sends the Chiha card, apparently unaware that Inokuma's maiden name was Chihara. Harada-sensei uses his vast experience, both as a teacher and a veteran player, to level the score and eventually win the first round. Inspired by Harada-sensei's win, Inokuma turns the table on Megumu and wins the first round by 2 cards.
