Six years have passed since Taichi Yagami and the DigiDestined journeyed to the Digital World, and almost three years since Hikari Yagami's team faced BelialVamdemon. The gate to the Digital World has since closed, its cause unknown. One day, a Kuwagamon attacks Odaiba, causing destruction and panic. Taichi spots the creature and tries to stop it alone, but fails. As Kuwagamon prepares to strike, Taichi's Digivice glows. A familiar voice comments on his growth, signaling a new development in the story.
