Viewtiful Joe

A world exists where movie characters are real, known as "Movie Land." A criminal group named Jado manipulates film content and seeks to control the real world by altering movies. Joe visits a theater with his girlfriend Silvia to watch "Captain Blue," a heroic film that ends in an unexpected tragedy as the protagonist is defeated by Jado. The syndicate's leader then announces plans to conquer the real world and captures Silvia, pulling her into the movie screen. To rescue her, Joe transforms into a superhero and confronts Jado. His fight begins in Movie Land.
