Hikari Hanazono has spent her life trying to defeat Kei Takishima, a school rival who has consistently outperformed her. Their rivalry began at age six when she lost to him in a spontaneous wrestling match. Now fifteen, Hikari joins "Special A," a group consisting of the top seven students at a private academy, in hopes of finally overcoming the person who caused her first loss. The series includes one-shots and special chapters that explore moments from Hikari and Kei’s past, such as their childhood meeting and middle school experiences, as well as brief stories about other characters like Yuhiro and Sakura.
