Ichigo learns that the human child is an arrancar named Nelliel Tu Oderschvanck. The three hollows are her brothers Pesche Guatiche and Dondochakka Bilstin, and their pet Bawabawa. Afterwards, a hollow named Lunuganga attacks the group, and they are unable to harm him because his body is made of sand. They are saved by Renji and Rukia, who freezes Lunuganga with her shikai.
