The Duel Masters Battle Arena Championship Tournament has started! A total of 14 contestants are chosen for the tournament, with the first 2 duelists by a computer at random, with the loser being removed from the tournament immediately. The first pair to duel are Hakuoh and Makoto Aizen. Makoto, the former 4th Temple Guardian (also known as the Dancing Duelist with the Dancing Deck) faces against his idol Hakuoh, pro of the Duel Masters world. During the duel it was apparent that Aizen has clearly improved a lot and has completely transformed into a professional duelist in the eyes of Hakuoh, and is now giving his all against him. They both managed to predict each other's and keeping a close duel getting past each other's shields and strategies. In the end of their duel Makoto started to corner Hakouh but managed to break the rest of Makotos shields as well as placing blocker creatures on his field. While Makoto had all the right cards to defeat Hakouh's remaining blockers he did not have a creature to deliver the finishing blow. Unable to win the duel, he let the duel end by taking the last hit from Hakuoh and letting his idol, master and his mentor be the winner. The next duel was between Shobu and Yurivana Toko, a cute girl with a following lot of fan-boys. Due to her reliance of looks to win her previous duels rather than skill, Shobu gave no mercy and quickly won the duel against her. After their respective duels both Hakuoh and Shobu returned to their seats where they found Toru Kamiya. He attempted to tell them something but fainted before doing so. What could it be?
