第8話: 赤木を名乗る男がヤクザの親分に麻雀の腕前を見せる

Six years after the match between Akagi and Ichikawa, Yasuoka brings a man, claiming he is Akagi, to show to Kawada, the boss of a yakuza group. Although impressed with the man's abilities, Ishikawa, the only man of Kawada who witnessed that match, is not sure if the man is Akagi. After glimpsing someone he thinks to be Akagi, Ishikawa contacts Nangou to confirm it. They see he working in a factory and tell Akagi someone is pretending to be him. Even Ishikawa bringing Akagi, Kawada insists the man is good enough as he relies on logic. He does a demonstration facing down all 136 tiles and picking random hands of 13 tiles, giving instantly the number of tiles necessary to be in tenpai. The man gives the right answers until he is interrupted by Akagi who, without looking at the tiles, says "three" to the last 19 tiles. (Source: Wikipedia)
