Naraku, using the Saimyoushou, takes a poisoned shard of the Shikon Jewel from the forehead of a bear youkai. During a raid on one of Naraku's castles, Koga's wolf yōkai tribe is killed by the wind sorceress Kagura, who lures Koga to the castle with the poisoned shard of the Shikon Jewel.
