초등학생이 숲을 탐험하던 중 이상한 캡슐 장난감 기계를 발견하고 설명에 따라 돈을 넣는다. 캡슐을 받아낸 후, 유령 같은 생물인 위스퍼가 나타나 그의 요카이 하인으로 등장하며 요카이 워치를 선물한다. 이 시계는 착용자가 보통 인간에게 보이지 않는 초자연적 존재인 요카이를 볼 수 있게 해주며, 친구가 된 요카이들을 소환할 수 있게 해준다. 각 요카이는 고유한 마법 능력을 가지고 있다. 시계를 이용해 학생과 위스퍼는 마을 곳곳에서 다양한 요카이를 만나며 그들이 일으킨 문제를 해결하고, 함께 우정을 나누는 모험을 펼친다.

2014년 12월 19일Nate goes out to pick up his family's Christmas cake but find that the town is once again overrun with Yo-kai. Komasan and Komajiro get asked to deliver presents for Santa Claus, but are overrun by children's requests.
