Sinbad's boat runs into a storm; he and Shera are separated from Ali Baba, but are picked up by a merchant ship. In the cargo hold, they discover the egg of a roc which the merchant mistakenly believes to be a giant gemstone. When the chick hatches, Sinbad names it Rockle and begins taking care of it. Buth then the chick's parents, who have been looking for their egg, attack the ship and carry it off, with Sinbad and Shera on board, to an island. After Rockle leaves with its parents, Sinbad is captured by hostile natives who prepare to sacrifice him to a saurial monster. Just in the nick of time, Rockle rescues Sinbad and carries him to a desert oasis. (Source: Wikipedia)
