Han Fei tells his teacher, Xun Kuang, about a recurring dream which he can't recall, but in which he always hears a song that lingered in his mind. He decides to return to his home, the Han State and bids his teacher farewell. Before leaving, he tells his Junior 'Brother' Li Si of his plans. The less gifted Li Si decides instead to go to the strongest of the Seven States, Qin. They acknowledge that when they next meet they will be rivals.
