Thorfinn is the son of the great warrior, Thors, now living life as a rural Norse peasant on the remote island of Iceland. He daydreams of traveling to faraway lands described to him by the adventurer, Leif, but lives an altogether ordinary and peaceful life. One day, a half-dead runaway slave is found buried in the snow outside their home by his older sister, Ylva, and Thors decides to attempt to save the man's life.
