Mary calls Lynn at the tower and tells her about her dad's arson fire. She promises to talk to her grandfather if Lynn competes with Vivian. Lynn and Vivian race at daybreak. Isabelle, Jim, principal, Jim, Eric, Peggy, and Philip show up. Lynn's strap breaks since Mary cuts it. Vivian is distracted by the sun when Edward appears. Both tie and then she falls.
