Komi ponders if Najimi saw her holding Tadano's hand, so she writes a letter to them. However, she becomes embarrassed. At school, after Komi hands Najimi the letter, Tadano asks her what she did after he called her, prompting her to flee. He then asks Najimi, who answers that Komi was checking his pulse. In the bathroom, Komi feels further embarrassment. Shisuto Naruse, a narcissist, tries to approach Komi for the first time, but is overwhelmed by their classmates. He leaves the room nervously, and outside, Komi gives him his fallen handkerchief. Delighted, he asks for her contact information, but she bolts away. He instead resorts to sending his selfies to Tadano. Tadano asks Komi what places they should go on their upcoming school trip to Kyoto. On their walk back home, Tadano notices Komi is feeling down, but she denies this. After they part ways, Komi calls Tadano when he is out of sight. She explains that she is scared of going, as she felt excluded when she had the trip in elementary school. Tadano tells her that she has real friends now, and invites her to go together.
