A massive fog pillar appears at the South Pole and serves as an entry point for an alien invasion. The United Nations creates a defense system to counter the threat. A pilot named Fukai Zero is part of the main defense force and assigned to the 5th flight squadron. He flies the Yukikaze, a top-tier reconnaissance aircraft, tasked with gathering battlefield data and returning it to base. During one mission, as he prepares to complete his task, he is attacked by an unknown machine.
