Ushiro no Shoumen Daare

A young girl in 1940 begins first grade with a tendency to cry easily. She enjoys playing with friends, singing schoolyard songs, and spending time with her three older brothers. Her mother is expecting, and she looks forward to becoming a big sister, though she only partly grasps the meaning. As the war intensifies, she is encouraged to support the country, and she donates her favorite doll, believing its materials can aid the war effort. Over time, she becomes aware of how the war is changing her life and the people around her. By 1945, she faces difficult and harsh realities. The story is based on the real-life experiences of its creator during World War II in the Showa era.
