Narumi Momose oversleeps and hurries to her first day at a new office job, vowing to keep her otaku and fujoshi habits hidden from her coworkers. Her plan fails when she bumps into Hirotaka Nifuji, a former middle school friend. She tries to avoid revealing her secret by suggesting drinks, but he guesses her interest in anime and manga when asking about her plans for Summer Comiket. Hanako Koyanagi and Tarou Kabakura, also otaku, overhear the conversation. Later, over drinks, Narumi shares her recent breakup due to her fujoshi identity. Hirotaka proposes a relationship, promising to support her and help with Monster Hunter. She accepts, and the two begin a romantic relationship filled with awkward but sweet moments.
