Appleseed α

A former SWAT officer named Deunan and her cyborg partner, Briareos, arrive in a war-damaged New York City before the events of Appleseed. The city is governed by a cyborg mayor who is convinced a UFO invasion is imminent. Briareos’s abilities secure them temporary safety, though the city is largely unsuitable for humans. After Deunan and Briareos separate, the mayor's situation worsens. Deunan joins a group of human outcasts, and the mayor considers enlisting their help. The two groups must overcome their differences to prevent a global catastrophe.
