A magician who has survived for centuries by transferring into new bodies is searching for a new host. While walking through the forest, he encounters a dying boy surrounded by slain monsters. The boy allows the magician to take over his body on the condition that the magician protects Erena, the boy’s companion. Unbeknownst to the magician, the boy is a swordsman who was cast out from the hero’s party.
