Kyouko Hori is a well-liked student, admired for her intelligence and appearance. Her classmate, Izumi Miyamura, is seen as a quiet, unassuming "loser fanboy." Their perceptions shift when Miyamura, who is unexpectedly striking with tattoos and piercings, visits Hori’s home, revealing a side of him that contrasts with his school image. Hori, who is more ordinary in private, begins to see Miyamura in a new light. The two students come to understand that people are more complex than they appear, and that first impressions can be misleading. The series includes 20 extra chapters, with the 17th volume released on July 18, 2023, two years after the original ending, adding 10 more chapters to the story.
