Hajime no Ippo: Champion Road

Ippo faces his first title defense as the reigning Featherweight champion of Japan. His opponent is Sanada Kazuki, a former Jr. Featherweight champion and medical student. Sanada is trained by Hama Dankichi, a former rival of Ippo's coach. Sanada works at the same hospital where Ippo's girlfriend, Kumi, is a nurse, and hospital staff favor Sanada's victory. Ippo must not only protect his championship but also navigate the personal challenges this situation presents.
