Ashita no Joe

A teenage orphan named Joe lives in the slums of Doya streets and crosses paths with Danpei, a former boxing coach who is homeless and an alcoholic. Recognizing Joe's potential in boxing, Danpei takes it upon himself to train him. After Joe is sent to a juvenile home for minor offenses, he meets Rikiishi, who becomes his rival in the sport. Danpei visits the home to support Joe's training and help him overcome Rikiishi. As Joe becomes committed to boxing, Danpei struggles to obtain a coaching license due to his history of alcoholism.
