Despite being invited by Iona, Maria decides she doesn't want to join the HappinessCharge Cures, as she intends to return to America with her parents and help Pretty Cures all around the world. This does not go down well with Iona, who challenges Maria to a karate match in order to get her stay, but ends up losing. The next day, as Iona goes with Maria to see her off, their time together is cut short when Hosshiiwa appears with a Kung-fu Saiark, which Iona manages to defeat alongside the other Cures.
