On a Sunday morning, Yusuke Sakon can’t contact his girlfriend Aki Kano while he is on his way there, so he asks the building manager of her apartment Hayashi to help open her room after he knew that the door was closed, only to find out that Kano is dead. The police arrive after and notice that there is a coffee cup containing cyanide and Kogoro’s investigation report nearby, causing him and Conan to arrive at the scene not long after.
