Mouri, Ran and Conan are in a rental car when it breaks down in a mountain pass in the middle of nowhere. They can't use their cellphones so they find a building and knock and ask to use a phone. It is a massage chair development lab and 3 developers have come up with new prototypes. There is obvious tension between the 3 developers and the President of the company, and things get even more tense when one of the developers stabs the President and drives away, only to crash his car and die.
