Mouri, Ran, and Conan are traveling in a rental car that breaks down in an isolated mountain pass. Unable to use cellphones, they locate a nearby building and request to use a telephone. The location is a massage chair development laboratory where three developers have created new prototypes. Tension is evident among the three developers and the company President. The situation escalates when one developer stabs the President and flees in his car. He subsequently crashes and dies. The group witnesses the immediate aftermath of this violent incident within the secluded facility.
