Mihashi arrives at Nishiura high school after a conflict with his former middle school team, lacking social skills and a distorted self-image. He plans to leave baseball behind, but the struggling Nishiura baseball team recruits him as their pitcher. Abe, an intense and overbearing catcher with his own challenges, is especially eager to work with him. Their partnership is both well-matched and problematic.
