In a distant future on a planet possibly named Earth, a war once occurred between samurai who had mechanized their bodies. After a prolonged conflict, a fragile peace settled. Farmers in Kanna Village, suffering from starvation and attacks by mechanized bandits known as Nobuseri, decide to seek samurai protection. Kirara, the village's water priestess, her younger sister Komachi, and a grieving villager named Rikichi travel to recruit samurai, offering only rice from their limited harvest. Through perilous trials and some fortune, they gather seven samurai with diverse skills and backgrounds to defend the village from the bandits and the merchants who support them.
