While out raking leaves at school, Ran hears an ominous voice as a strong wind passes by. In the middle of the night, animals start acting strangely and an earthquake occurs, though only a few people actually felt it. Members of the town start acting angrier than normal and are more prone to getting into fights, including Ran's classmates Junpei. That night, Rui and Midori stay over for the night at Ran's house. Rui reassures Ran that he will be there for her if anything happens.
