While raking leaves at school, Ran hears an ominous voice as a strong wind passes by. Later that night, animals behave strangely and an earthquake occurs, though only a few people felt it. Town members become unusually angry and prone to fighting, including Ran's classmate Junpei. Rui and Midori stay over at Ran's house, with Rui reassuring her that he will be there if anything happens. Ran wakes up to news of an attack at school and leaves with Rui, Midori, and Rin to investigate the incident.
