Houseki no Kuni

In a world of crystalline beings known as The Lustrous, each gem must defend their existence from the lunarians, who seek to transform them into ornaments. Phosphophyllite, a delicate and fragile gem, wishes to participate in the struggle. Instead, Phos is given the task of documenting the natural history of their world, which initially appears unexciting. Through this assignment, Phos meets Cinnabar, a gem living in seclusion. The question remains whether this ordinary duty can bring Phos and Cinnabar the satisfaction they seek.
