Izuna has lived as a double for Princess Kisara of the Eastern kingdom, a role known to only a few in the palace. The princess was frail and the only one who used Izuna’s true name. Their arrangement was to end when Kisara was to marry the Western kingdom’s crown prince as part of a peace agreement. However, shortly before the wedding, Kisara’s health declined rapidly. On her deathbed, she expressed regret for not freeing Izuna and placed the fate of peace between the two nations in her hands. Izuna now faces the prospect of continuing as Kisara, marrying into the Western royal family, and honoring her dying wish. She has resolved not to fall in love with her future husband, though the challenges ahead in the West remain uncertain.
