Kidou Senshi Gundam: The Origin

A Zeon commander, Char Aznable, launches an assault on a Federation research base on Side 7 to stop the development of a mobile suit. However, the Federation already has a prototype operational and uses it to counterattack with the Gundam, turning the battle in their favor. Amid the conflict, Amuro Ray, a young electronics expert, seeks to protect his loved ones from the violence. Faced with heavily armed mobile suit pilots, he must find a way to prevent them from harming those around him.
