Rud is a tank known for having the highest defense in history and is part of the Hero's Party, which frequently participates in labyrinth raids. He joins these raids to find a wish-granting treasure that could cure his sister's illness. After a failed raid, the hero accuses him of being the cause and expels him, unaware of the effects of Rud's abilities. With no other options, Rud heads back to his hometown. Along the way, he rescues a girl being attacked by a monster. The girl possesses a rare "Appraisal" skill, which reveals the true nature of Rud's unknown abilities. These abilities are highly potent, including a defense stat of 9999. Equipped with this knowledge, Rud begins a new journey.
