2004年3月30日A transport ship is carrying a precious cargo - a small, engine-like device - when it comes under attack from a hot pink pirate ship, the Excellent Queen! Its captain, Lisa Brilliant boards and demands the treasure to be handed over. The transport chief refuses, but that must mean it's of incredible value, so she snatches it and leaves. While Lisa admires her prize, another ship watches her departure unseen. It's Bibirichi, and he's plenty upset - that was his target! News of this reaches the Galaxy Mobile Platoon, and Dr. Stewart explains why this is a big deal - the object was the Reactor Might, an ancient device of unknown origin, said to generate untold quantities of energy, enough to destroy an entire planet. Its existence has been a guarded secret until now, and Lisa Brilliant wasn't expecting to find it. Hopefully she won't know what it is until they reclaim it...but first, they need to find her! Tracking it won't be easy; space pirates obscure the electronic transmissions from their ships, so they can't be traced. Rick has an idea, and hops into the Dragon Bird towards planet Cryton; perhaps Samurai Goroh can lend his assistance. The Reactor Might doesn't go ignored by Black Shadow either, as his two minions Zoda and Miss Killer bicker for the opportunity to track it down. Black Shadow is generous enough to let Zoda get the job, despite Miss Killer reminding him of his terrible track record. Elsewhere, Bibirichi and his gang are starving - they haven't had a profitable raid in ages, all because Lisa Brilliant keeps beating them to the punch! They receive an unknown transmission and put it up on-screen... It's Zoda! He sends an open message to all denizens of the galaxy, offering a hundred-million space credits to anyone who reveals the location of Lisa Brilliant. This is just what the poor schlubs need! Lisa isn't far from their current location as they prepare to get in touch with Zoda. Rick finally arrives on planet Cryton, and drives towards the town once more. Samurai Goroh is in the midst of grinding himself some tea when Rick barges in to his abode, apprehended by Sasuke and Hakuun. Goroh permits him entrance, but asks he take off his shoes first. He knows why he's here, but cannot help him; he might know where Lisa is, but the traditions of their families forbid them from interfering with each others' work. Rick pushes the issue...and nearly gets a blade to the neck. Goroh reminds him he's a pirate - he has no interest working with the police, and if he weren't an acquaintance, he would have slain him where he stood. Still, he respects Rick, and asks why the two had never crossed paths before; Goroh is told of his stint in cold sleep, something he never knew. Rick laments feeling like a relic, lost in a future where no one understands him. Goroh points to items around his chamber: his sword, that vase, this caligraphy, all items that have been passed down from generations nearly a millenium ago. Compared to those, Rick's still young - the first time he's been complimented on his age! Telling him he should live without regrets, the samurai urges him to quit the police and become a pirate...he'll tell him where Lisa is if he does. Lisa Brilliant, meanwhile, is being hounded by Birichi and his scummy gang, when a Dark Million battle station approaches! Bibirichi's craft grabs a hold of the Excellent Queen, allowing Zoda to board and point a gun at her, demanding the Reactor Might. The space pirate was expecting this, and the Reactor Might is already being jettisoned in an escape pod. It arrives at Samurai Goroh's abode, and he and Rick enter his underground base to retrieve it. However, they receive a ransom from Zoda: hand over the Reactor Might, or else his wife gets it! Rick calls Jody back at headquarters to tell her he knows where Lisa is and is requesting backup; the Platoon board the Galaxy Runner while Clank tracks down where Rick currently is. He asks Goroh if he really believes Zoda's word, but the samurai isn't concerned about that; if he doesn't go, Lisa will die. That's all that matters. They board his spaceship, the Fire Needle...as the ground beneath the town opens up, revealing a launch pad for his craft to take off. They approach the Dark Million space station and dock, disembarking in their F-Zero machines. The two are greeted by Zoda and Bibirichi, who demand he hand over the Reactor Might. Goroh refuses to until he knows his wife is okay. Zoda raises his pistol, and Rick does the same...but they'll get nowhere at this rate, and Rick and Goroh are forced to drop their weapons. Meanwhile, Lisa looks out of her holding cell to see Bibirichi's men guarding the door. She pretends her cell is too hot, requesting some fresh air to be let in. The grunts blindly obey, and get clobbered for being such horny pups. Goroh is still refusing to hand over the Reactor Might, despite suffering several blasts from Zoda's gun; he wants to see his wife. Rick tries to reason with them, but the samurai holds him back - even if it costs him his life, he will never show weakness to an enemy. Rick makes a dive for his gun, but Zoda blasts it away. Lisa calls from behind them, demanding Zoda to back down or Bibirichi snuffs it. Zoda doesn't care about the little peon - heck, he might as well dispose of him personally! Amidst the distraction, Goroh grabs his sword and knocks off Zoda's aim, but gets shot some more in return. Lisa rushes to her husband's side, but this has gone on long enough... Rick shows Zoda the Reactor Might before hopping in the Dragon Bird and driving off, forcing Zoda to chase after him. They race through the battle station's corridors before Rick stops at the command room, calling Jody again - he needs backup, fast! The Galaxy Runner isn't far away, but Rick's communicator suddenly goes dead. He takes a blast to the shoulder, wounding him as he slumps against the wall. Zoda can't believe his luck - he's got his archenemy just where he wants him, and the Reactor Might in his hands! Rick has the gun pressed against his head, Zoda's anxious to see him sweat in fear, but he remembers what Samurai Goroh told him: no matter what, you must always stand and fight. A surprise lunge knocks Zoda to the ground and his gun out of his hand, but he's not out yet! He draws his knife and stabs at Rick who does his best to dodge, but while they're fighting, the Reactor Might begins to glow...unleashing its energy! The entire station's electronics begin to spark and a shockwave knocks the two against the far wall, as the whole place begins to fall apart. Bibirichi and his men scarper, but Samurai Goroh hops in his Fire Stingray, despite his wounds, and races down the corridor. He finds the Dragon Bird abandoned and Rick unconscious, and he carries him to safety. Zoda awakens afterwards and lifts the Reactor Might, managing to seal it again. He makes his exit in a battle station, gloating over his prize - with this, Black Shadow will be at his mercy! Goroh is reunited with the rest of his crew, and they escape on their ships with Rick and Bibirichi's men just before the entire space station explodes. While Bibirichi and his men are held captive, Rick and Goroh have their wounds treated. Rick awakes, and the samurai is disappointed that his first words aren't thanks for being rescued, but to report in to the Galaxy Mobile Platoon: the Reactor Might is in Zoda's hands now. Chase after him! Exhausted, Rick collapses to the ground. Goroh smirks. "If you join me, I promise you many days like today." He declines; he prefers being among the living. 2004年4月6日Walking through the hallways of the Dark Million base, Zoda gloats to Miss Killer about acquiring the Reactor Might - he went to a lot of trouble to get it, you know! Despite that, he gives it to her to present to Black Shadow. She complies, but is suspicious; Zoda clearly has something planned. Rick is still recovering from his last encounter with Zoda, but he's in no mood to rest - Zoda is still out there, and he's still got the Reactor Might! At the moment, Clank is the only one with the skills to track him down, so until then all they can do is take it easy; Rick especially. That dope should be in the medical bay in his state. Black Shadow is presented the Reactor Might, and Zoda accepts his praises through video feed, but getting a simple "well done" isn't what he's here for - he's here to tell Black Shadow he hates his guts! He's an arrogant, egocentric boss who should have been dethroned long ago, and Zoda has just that in mind! He has a present for him... He presses a trigger, causing the Reactor Might to unleash its energy...and in a matter of seconds, the entire Dark Million headquarters is annihilated. Not even a speck of debris remains of it. Black Shadow is dead, and Zoda is now the leader of Dark Million! His first order of business: a giant ice cream sundae! It's quickly delivered to him...by none other than Miss Killer! Black Shadow looms over Zoda's throne, scaring the bejeezus out of him. But how did he survive? Simple. Black Shadow is powerful enough to contain the energies of the Reactor Might. His space station, however, was not, so he summoned his Black Bull and the two of them escaped in it. He advances towards Zoda, reminding the little runt that he will never defeat him. He tries to scramble away, but Black Shadow picks him up by his ankles and shows him another usage of the Reactor Might: grinding it into his abdomen. Zoda howls with pain as the energies charge through him, leaving him weak and shriveled - Miss Killer can barely look. Black Shadow drops him to the floor in a heap, telling him he should be thankful for this tremendous gift. Meanwhile, Rick is eager to do something - anything! - to try and locate Zoda, but Clank has orders to keep a watch on him; he's not going anywhere. However, they finally receive a signal from the Reactor Might...it's located under Mute City? A scraggly, shambles of a man walks the streets of the city...It's Zoda. He remembers when he was the criminal kingpin of New York, warring against the police and Rick Wheeler in open warfare on the streets...and now look at him. Zoda can barely recognize himself. Is this how far he's fallen? He stands atop a set of stairs and announces himself, threatening to bring a reign of terror upon the city and seeking anyone will serve under him. The crowd snicker at him and two security guards quickly constrain him, whom he offers high ranking positions to. They throw him to the curb for talking nonsense. The Dragon Bird pulls up on the street, and Rick and Clank hop out to go looking for the Reactor Might. Zoda spies them, and hopes to accost them so they can prove his identity, but is beaten to the punch by a mob of adoring fans seeking Rick's autograph. Zoda joins the rush...but is knocked callously to the ground. Rick helps the old man to his feet, but is called away before he can stick around. Tears begin to well in Zoda's eyes. "Old man?" His longtime nemesis just brushing him off? It's too much for him to handle, and he stomps the ground and screams in rage. Clank suddenly receives the signal from the Reactor Might - though it's hard to miss. His computer fizzes and pops while all the lights in the vicinity shatter. A huge, imposing figure appears from nowhere, and the crowd flees at the sight of it... It's... Zoda...?! The Platoon arrive on the scene and Clank finally assesses what's happened - the Reactor Might is inside Zoda's body! He feels stronger than he ever has before, and it shows when the Platoon open fire upon him; every shot bounces off him harmlessly. It's Zoda's turn now - he summons the Death Anchor from a portal and boards it, it too becoming supercharged with the power of the Reactor Might, and he races off into the distance, crashing through cars like they weren't even there. Jody orders the Platoon to follow after, and Clank and Rick to get the heck out of dodge. Rick is eager to assist and strips off his arm cast, but Jack thumps him - he's only going to weigh them down, and putting his feud over the safety of innocent people isn't going to help! Jody changes her tune; chasing Zoda is obviously the highest priority Rick has in life, and he isn't going to change his mind anytime soon. He can come along; they'll know where he is, at least. Zoda continues his rampage, escalating from merely destroying cars to levelling entire buildings, leaving destruction in his wake. The Platoon aren't far behind...but they're in no position to stop them. EAD tries his hand at it, but he and Lucy are swept aside like flies. Jack tries clashing his machine against his, but the Death Anchor has too much power behind it, and he too is sent crashing into a building. Rick and Jody are the only ones standing; Jody hangs back to check up on everyone, but Rick forges on ahead, encountering Zoda at the Brooklyn Bridge. The villain tries to reason with him, saying the two are destined to be together - no one else has been through the experiences they have. Maybe they should be friends? Rick's not standing for it; when he awoke in the 23rd century, he thought of nothing but revenge against Zoda...but the new friendships and experiences he's had have helped him grow, to change him. Zoda is still the same reprehensible scum he's always been, and Rick will stop at nothing to defeat him! He aims his gun at him while the Galaxy Runner hovers overhead, its cannon locked and ready - you're under arrest! The Reactor Might inside Zoda begins to glow, and he and his Death Anchor fly through the air to the top of the Galaxy Runner. Tentacles grow from his body, stretching out and latching on to the spaceship, giving him control over it! The cannon narrowly misses hitting the bridge, merely splashing Rick...but if that thing targets the city...! He follows after the ship in the Dragon Bird, but has difficulty performing with his busted arm. Waves of energy emanate from the Reactor Might, flooding Rick's machine and causing the dashboard to glow...but nothing appears to happen. No matter, Rick has the strength to do what he wanted now - Boost Fire! The Spin Booster carries the Dragon Bird into the air and aboard the Galaxy Runner, nearly knocking Zoda off in the process. Rick and Zoda prepare to fight, the criminal opening with a blow that misses and strikes the ground, punching clean through the ship's hull. Rick hasn't the strength to match this guy! Zoda follows with left hooks and right hooks, Rick dodging each with ease, but his shoulder cramps when he tries to reach for his gun, scoring a mean punch right across the face. He tries again to grab his fallen gun, but Zoda plants his mighty boot atop of him while he aims the cannon towards the city. Rick struggles beneath his foot, and Zoda lifts him above his head and tosses him hard upon the ground. He struggles to his feet, a feat that impresses Zoda - he should put this skill and determination to use under his rule! Rick would have nothing of it - he fights for the safety of the city and his friends. His nemesis is insulted he would dare hold anything higher than their rivalry, and he begins choking the life out of him. Suddenly, the Reactor Might glows a sinister red and Zoda loses control of his muscles. Bulges begin swelling out of his body, his form growing grossly out of control...and in a swift expelling of energy, Zoda is reduced to a shrivelled husk again. He tries to struggle futilely away from Rick but a larger threat appears in the distance: a Dark Million battle station! Black Shadow laughs; Zoda was unable to contain the Reactor Might's power, but his experiment was otherwise a success. The Black Bull roars out into the sky, initating its Black Fire: a Spin Booster that tears across the top of the Galaxy Runner, splitting the tentacles and hurling Rick, Zoda and their ships into the air below. The Galaxy Runner is too slow to save them...only for a new ship to appear, the Falcon Flyer! Its tractor beam safely catches Rick and the Dragon Bird before they hit the water, and flies them to safety. The Black Bull continues spinning, slicing open a void in the sky...for Zoda to fall into. He curses Black Shadow's name as he vanishes into the darkness, the portal closing with him inside. The Black Bull returns to its battle station and departs without a trace. Returned safely to the ground, Rick recognizes the Black Fire as a technique similar to his Boost Fire. Captain Falcon tells him there's a reason for it; their three machines, the Dragon Bird, Blue Falcon and Black Bull are "brothers from another time." Rick wishes to know more, but the Falcon Flyer departs, leaving him with his questions unanswered. He ponders what this could mean for his Dragon Bird, but before he can dwell on it, the rest of the Platoon come running up to welcome him back. He smiles; these are the people whom he fights for. 2004年4月13日An otherwise still night in Mute City is interrupted by a haunting call - the howl of the wolf. This catches the ear of a lone racer prowling the streets, and can't believe his ears. Talk of the sound is all over the Falcon House the next morning, and Rick, Bart and Clank are arguing over it being a prank or an ominous premonition. They're interrupted by Burt's new employee arriving for his shift: Leon. He's been working at the Falcon House for a week now, and everyone's got nothing but kind words for him, Lucy especially. Leon takes Lucy's cup, but accidentally drops it to the ground; the two pick up the pieces, Leon blushing as their hands touch. Rick teases Lucy back at Platoon HQ about Leon fancying her, but she refuses to believe it. They enter the command room to hear Jack having a row with someone, before stomping out in a huff; an unknown man is sitting in Lucy's seat! She politely asks him to clear off...only to have a whiplashed at her feet. The man laughs at them; he never knew the Galaxy Mobile Platoon were such scaredy cats, but before Rick can rough him up, Jody enters and introduces the man: this is Beastman, a beast tamer who'll be helping them track down members of Dark Million. The Platoon may be focused on Black Shadow, but Beastman is after the peons; beasts like Bio Rex join the criminal organization to escape his wrath. Jody partners Rick up with him, because nobody else wants to. Beastman is on the prowl in his Hyper Speeder, and is all too aware Rick is following after. He doesn't appreciate the assistance from small fries like him, and zooms off to explore the local club, before disappearing again. Jack catches up with Rick and apologizes for foisting the responsibility onto him; Beastman's one rough pup with a real attitude problem, and if Jack were in Rick's shoes, he'd ditch the assignment. Rick reports to Jody that he lost track of Beastman, and she does not approve - they're meant to be cooperating! John Tanaka takes the call and tries to shame him into the assignment; after all, if Beastman's such a hardass, he'll put the Galaxy Police to shame! EAD quickly leaves the room for fear of being paired up with him. Well, there's nothing Rick can do about it, he's got to follow this guy. It begins to rain and Lucy is stuck outside without a brolly, when Leon approaches and offers his. They make their way to the Falcon House with a bouquet of flowers Lucy bought to brighten the place up, and Leon reveals he's a part-time F-Zero pilot, and the two make plans to race together in the next Mute City race. Leon stops to ask Lucy something...but is too shy to let the words come out. The Dragon Bird pulls up so Rick can laugh at the two sharing an umbrella - Leon and Lucy sittin' in a tree...! He asks where Beastman is, but they know as little as he does. Rick drives on and the two enter the Falcon House, and Leon is asked to attend to a customer... Beastman! Leon freezes up before delivering his coffee and hopes to get away without remark. The hunter knows the kid isn't from around these parts, and asks where he came from. Burt and Lucy leap to his defense, but Beastman looks like he's about to say something awful about poor Leon...when Rick enters, saying he's got intel relating to Bio Rex. The two rush out, and Leon breathes a sigh of relief. The Big Fang and a trio of Dark Soldiers have just blown up a bank, but the Hyper Speeder and Dragon Bird aren't far behind. Bio Rex breaks into a sweat at the sight of Beastman, and commands the robots to hold him back. Beastman plays rough and slams them against the highway barriers, but Bio Rex manages to make his getaway using the warp gate. Rick blames Beastman for faffing about and letting them escape, but the hunter isn't too concerned; he'll catch them himself. While cleaning up the Falcon House, Leon falls into a daydream, thinking wistfully of him and Lucy spending time together. As night falls, the Hyper Speeder sits in an alley on a stakeout, when Rick delivers him some hot snacks. He urges Beastman to return to headquarters, there's clearly nothing to be found out here. Just then, the howl of the wolf is heard once more, and Beastman rushes to the top of the nearest building...where a wolfman is waiting for him! The hunter makes the first strike, firing a few rounds from his pistol, but the wolf backflips between them with ease, landing on the roof's edge. He cracks his whip, but the wolf jumps out of the way and down into the city below. Rick catches up to Beastman and demands to know what happened; what had the wolf done to merit attack, or to flee? Beastman changes the subject and explains his family was slaughtered by a wild beast when he was young; he believed their kind to be extinct, but the hairs left by this wolf prove otherwise. They survived, and have had offspring. Believing the people of Mute City to be under threat, he'll stop at nothing to slay this creature! As Rick returns to his vehicle, he hears a noise from the alleyway... It's Leon! Shaken, the boy hesitantly explains...he was that beast. The two head to the park while he goes into further detail: his ancestors may have been monsters, but as the generations went on, they became more and more peaceful, until he might as well be domesticated. He isn't 100% beast, but the sight of the full moon triggers something within him, a beast that cannot be tamed. To avoid Beastman and to help people in need across the galaxy, he became a wandering racer...and Mute City is no longer a safe haven for him. He's prepared to leave, but Rick calls him out - is he going to leave Lucy without a goodbye? Is he going to drop out of the race? Leon is torn, but no matter what, he wishes to keep his inner beast a secret from her. Meanwhile, Bio Rex is just about ready to flee from Dark Million, when Miss Killer bumps into him on the way out. He falls to his knees and begs her for help - Beastman is after him! That awful hunter has worked for Black Shadow since before he was born, but Miss Killer asks him, who is worse? If he flees, Black Shadow will grant him a fate worse than death like what happened to Zoda. She suggests the two of them attack Beastman at the upcoming race; Bio Rex is overjoyed at her support, though she appears to have ulterior motives. The Mute City race is about to begin, with the participants performing a practice lap before the real deal. Leon is taking part, and he and Lucy are glad to be spending time together again...though Beastman is also in the race, and he's got his eye on them. The race is underway, and the Big Fang is far out in front, but the Hyper Speeder is firmly on his backside. Just when it seems like Miss Killer is lending a hand, she boosts ahead, leaving Bio Rex to fend for himself - this is her race to win! Jack makes small talk with Rick, remarking that Leon looks pretty happy despite not putting up much of a race. Rick explains it may be his last time together with Lucy, but Jody quickly reminds him he should be keeping an eye on Beastman. He boosts up to the leading pack, while Lucy and Leon hang back, enjoying themselves. Everyone else has boosted, so they figure they might as well keep up. Lucy boosts ahead, but as Leon grips the lever he nearly gives in to his inner beast, boosting ahead for the sake of winning. He restrains himself; his goal is to stay by Lucy's side. The Hyper Speeder drifts along Bio Rex's side, Beastman preparing to boost and ram him into the wall...only for Lucy to come out of her boost between them, giving Bio Rex some breathing room. Spotting an opportunity, he rams the Elegance Liberty onto its roof, hoping to smack Beastman, but he dodges just in time. Leon can't believe his eyes, and the Platoon are just as shocked; Rick leaves the race up to Jack while he and the others try to hoist Lucy's machine right-side up again. Try as they might, the pit crew can't lift it, and Leon can only watch helplessly; he could lift it if he gave in to the beast, but that would mean... It's for Lucy's sake, and he can't let her lie like this. He begins lifting the machine, transforming as he does so, and flips it upright with a mighty shove. Rick carries the unconscious Lucy out of her machine, while a familiar figure steps towards Leon. Beastman. Rick steps between him, telling him he should set his priorities straight; Leon may be a beast, but he's as human as either one of them. The two draw their pistols, sights locked on one another...until Beastman withdraws. He allows Leon to live but never wants to see him again, and he departs in the Hyper Speeder. After Lucy awakens, she visits the Falcon House and finds Leon has gone without a goodbye. Standing in the rain, she kicks herself for not recognizing the secrets he was hiding, when a figure appears holding an umbrella. It's Rick. 2004年4月20日Miss Killer enters the throne room of Black Shadow to find a surprise waiting for her: a human brain in a jar. Black Shadow requests she contact Dr. Stewart of the Galaxy Mobile Platoon; he may be their enemy, but his advanced medical skills will be just what they need to make the brain functional again. Miss Killer receives strange visions, as if the brain were trying to communicate with her. A letter is sent to the Galaxy Police, requesting the doctor's assistance if he is to revive "Roy", and Jody, Tanaka and the chief discuss how to handle the matter: they clearly don't have a medic if they need to borrow theirs, but will they kidnap or kill Dr. Stewart? Roy was a valued member of the Galaxy Police, but they never learnt if he died or was merely missing in action; no matter what state he's in, they can't leave him in the hands of Dark Million. The three decide to keep the subject a secret until Jody talks with Stewart personally. "Everyone knows I can keep a secret!" Stewart and Clank are clacking away on their computers, the doctor restructing a DNA string while Clank is trying to research his father, but having little luck. Stewart knew him, and tells the boy he was a courageous and intelligent man who fought for justice to the bitter end. Jody summons the doctor away to tell him about the crisis personally...and he's made up his mind. He's going in. Jody is shocked, as are the rest of the Platoon; this is Dark Million he's talking about, it's risky! Jody demands to know how they all knew about this (though we all know the answer), but Stewart is in no mood to argue. As a doctor, it's his duty to help people, and Roy Hughes was a valued member, a friend to Jody's brother and father to Clank. Even if the chance of reviving him is minute, he can't ignore an opportunity like this. Jody reflects on the situation in the observation deck before Rick enters, telling them the meet-up is scheduled tomorrow. The doctor is preparing hard for the upcoming operation, but the two agree that he can't go on this mission alone... At the Falcon House, Lucy asks Clank if he remembers his father; of course he does, he always carries the photo pendant of him everywhere. He asks her what she knows about him, but she shuts her mouth; she can't let the kid know about Roy's condition...! It's the day of the arrangement, and Dr. Stewart drives his way to the meeting point, the Dragon Bird discretely following him from out of his line of sight. Stopping by a snow-capped mountain range, Stewart disembarks and awaits his transport. High above, the Galaxy Runner monitors the area from the sky. Rick hangs tight, but it doesn't look like anyone's coming...when suddenly, a massive shape bursts from beneath the snow...it's a Dark Million battle station! It docks on the edge of a cliff (about as well as a giant space-faring battle station can dock) and a passage opens, allowing Dr. Stewart to enter. Rick races to board as well...but the station has already taken off by the time he gets close. Cannons are cocked and fired towards the Dragon Bird, but that doesn't mean the Galaxy Runner can't give chase! However, Dark Million clearly knew what they were up to, and a huge wave of smaller battle stations float in, zapping their spaceship. Dr. Stewart is given a warm welcome aboard the battle station: first being kicked to the ground by two robots, then put under a sleeping spell by The Skull. During this time the battle station is flown to the very edge of the galaxy, and the doctor is awoken and escorted to Black Shadow's throne room. He demands to know why Black Shadow would have Roy's remains, but Miss Killer and The Skull sass-mouth him for daring to question their leader. Black Shadow dances around the issue, but does promise him this: if he successfully revives Roy, he will return the two of them to Earth, no strings attached. With a single gesture the throne room disappears, and Stewart finds himself in the battle station's operating room. The brain is presented to him, along with three medical aides, and they can finally prove to him this is Roy's brain. Hooking a communicator to it, they ask the brain what its body once looked like, and images of Roy and Clank flash into view. Back at Platoon HQ, the team are begging Clank to help them pinpoint the doctor's whereabouts, but he's having little luck. Stewart and his crew set to work on a new body for the brain, crafting a brand new mechanical hominid for it to control. The mind slowly awakens, and the doctor is with him in his first moments. He speaks to Roy, assuring him his child is in safe hands, but he has no choice but to erase his memory. From now on, Roy will become a cyborg; a human brain in a robot body. He enters four command keys to activate his body, naming them after his allies in the Galaxy Mobile Platoon, and the cyborg stands on his own two feet, now known as Mighty Gazelle. Gazelle and Stewart are brought before Black Shadow; the doctor explains why he gave him a new name, saying Roy is no longer alive and this body is not his own. He asks why he was given this task, though Black Shadow gives an overly flowery answer: "God created Adam and Eve from love. I believe in love too." All that's left is to return the two of them to Earth...if Black Shadow holds up his end of the bargain, that is. The Platoon have been anxiously awaiting the doctor's return, staying up all night and sleeping in their chairs, but the time has finally come: two ships are jetting towards the meeting point! A message from Miss Killer confirms they are returning the doctor and Gazelle unharmed; Dark Million aren't always such bad guys, she claims. Clank is curious to know who Gazelle could be, but the Platoon squirm around the answer before departing for the warp gate. Two F-Zero machines arrive at the warp gate, the Golden Fox carrying Dr. Stewart, and the Red Gazelle carrying the newcomer, Mighty Gazelle. Clank is excited at the sight of this sweet-lookin' cyborg, but everyone scampers to see why the doctor hasn't exited his machine... He shouts at them to stay back - their machines are lined with explosives, and he's been handcuffed to the steering wheel! A message from Miss Killer briefs them all on their predicament; Gazelle's body has also been lined with bombs, and along with the four keys Dr. Stewart inputted during his creation, Black Shadow made his own set as well. They have five minutes to decode the passwords before...kaboom! The Platoon are in no position to start guessing passwords, but Rick and Clank rush forward to give it a shot, despite the doctor's severe warnings. He's their friend, and they would never leave him behind! The group set apart removing the bombs from the machines while Clank tries to decode them, but there's so little time left - Stewart shouts at them to escape and save themselves. Clank's not having it, and asks for the passwords. The doctor tells him the ones he entered, but when it comes to Black Shadow's, everyone throws whatever names come to mind. The timer is almost at zero...but the bomb is deactivated just in time. The passwords worked! The group break into cheer...meanwhile, a cog silently activates inside of Mighty Gazelle. They all return to headquarters and Stewart is taken to the medical bay, satisfied with the hard work they made just for his safety. However, he doesn't want Clank to know of who Mighty Gazelle really is. Speaking of him, isn't it nifty to have a cyborg on the team? Tanaka rushes in to check on Stewart but is scared witless by the sight of Gazelle, who's merely inquisitive about his new environments. Miss Killer reports in to Black Shadow to tell him the Platoon cracked the codes he made...just as he had hoped. With step one out of the way, he has something big waiting in store for his enemies! He hops into his escape car and hit the gas...but moves all of nine inches before being stopped by a towering, powerful cyborg. Mighty Gazelle to the rescue! He tosses the car aside and admires his handiwork, while a component inside of him beeps ominously. Come morning, he hits the police station and dumps the crook in their hands, leaving them to do the paperwork. Clank has been keeping tabs on Gazelle's actions since he joined the Galaxy Police, and he can't help but admire the cyborg; he'd love to meet him sometime! He did save his life after all, it'd be cool if he remembered him. The others try to politely deter him, claiming Gazelle's got a busy schedule, but Clank isn't convinced - they want to hog the robot for themselves! When asked why they really don't want him to meet Gazelle, the Platoon find excuses to leave. Rick figures the kid will disobey them anyway, so he leads him to Stewart's lab where Gazelle is undergoing some routine maintenance. The doctor sings the officer's praises and Gazelle thanks the boy for saving his life before. They shake hands and decide to be friends, the two oblivious to their real relationship, before the cyborg returns to his duty. Rick reminds Clank that Gazelle is a busy officer and shouldn't be bothered; Clank just think he's jealous. On the Platoon's test track, Lucy and EAD are busy practicing their racing skills; they're keen to assist Gazelle in his first upcoming race, because he'll be kicked out if he fails. Suddenly, a new machine appears on the track - a Dark Million robot racer! Another one appears soon after, and the two begin shoving the Elegance Liberty and Great Star against the barriers, knocking them off of the track. They try to flee, but the robots are hot on their trail... Mighty Gazelle to the rescue! His racer zooms onto the scene, scattering the two robots and sending them crashing into the rocks. "Just doing my job," he remarks, and drives off just as suddenly as he appeared. Clank can't just keep his curiosity to himself, and is trawling the Galaxy Police's computer database to find info on Gazelle...but comes up with nothing. Rick reminds him even if he is a member of the Galaxy Mobile Platoon, he shouldn't be snooping without permission, and halts his search. Clank leaves in a huff. While preparing to take the Crazy Bear for a spin, Clash and Dr. Stewart find Clank asking them questions: if Gazelle is a cyborg, who is the human brain inside of him, and why is it kept such a secret? Dr. Stewart tells the boy he shouldn't be asking questions above his rank...before claiming he doesn't know the answer. Clash legs it to avoid being queried as well. The mechanic is out on scout duty, eyeing out the upcoming race's track layout from a faraway mountain...when a Death Soldier appears right in front of him! It tosses him to the ground so another can stomp his head in...but wouldn't you know, Mighty Gazelle is here just in the nick of time! He delivers sweet corkscrew kicks right to their faces, and Clash is safe once more. "Just doing my job!" the cyborg boasts, as he chases after the fleeing robots. At the Falcon House, Clank is regaled with talk of these rescues, and his respect for the cyborg is increased even further. Burt asks to know where they found such a capable officer, but Rick kicks Jack in the shin before he can answer. While Clank puzzles over this, Rick goes outside to take a call from Jody: some of their top-secret data has been stolen recently, and Mighty Gazelle is their number one suspect. Rick doesn't want to believe it, none of the doctor's tests have found anything suspicious in him... but why else would Black Shadow release him so easily? Rick agrees to keep a watch on him. The next day, Rick is using the computer to keep an eye on the cyborg, who's awaiting instructions in the police station. Reports come in of an emergency at Green Bridge, and Gazelle is the first one to rush out in response; Rick follows suit, but Jack stops Clank from tagging along. The boy demands to know why Rick is spying on one of their own, but Jack gives him another vague non-answer. Another Death Soldier is roughing up the park, ploughing through benches and otherwise giving people a bad time. Gazelle arrives and blocks the robot's path, exiting his vehicle to arrest it personally...giving it ample time to just drive around him and escape just before the police arrive. Rick witnessed the whole thing - why did he miss his opportunity? This is reported back to Platoon HQ, and it turns out it runs deeper than they thought - of all the emergencies Gazelle had responded to, the only criminals he let escape were ones who worked for Dark Million! Rick returns to the station to find Clank waiting for him. The boy urges him to stop following Gazelle - it's making the cyborg upset! Orders are orders he replies, but the boy storms out, frustrated. Gazelle meets up with Clank outside a burger joint and is told what's happening behind his back; they may believe he's a member of Dark Million, but Clank will always believe he's a good guy! Gazelle's component begins ticking again, and he decides to resolve this matter himself - he's going to Dark Million's headquarters! Rick pulls up just after he leaves and is told where he's going, but Clank is adamant the cyborg is a swell guy who'd mean no one no harm. Rick catches up and stops Gazelle on the highway, and asks him about his objective; does he even know where Dark Million is located? The cyborg answers: yes. Rick continues to grill him on his real intentions, but the component inside Gazelle begins flashing red, and his speech degenerates into random keywords before he finally admits it: he was ordered to steal data from them, for the glory of Black Shadow! The cyborg takes a swipe at him before driving back to the police station, Rick in hot pursuit with backup on the way. A shootout takes place on the stairs leading to the station as Gazelle opens fire on them, blowing up two police cars. A voice comes crying out his name... It's Clank! The cyborg does not recognize him, but instead picks him up and uses him as a hostage, dropping and crushing his photo pendant as he charges into the station lobby. An entire wave of armed officers surround the cyborg, but a quick spray of laser fire sends them scattering...giving Clank time to free himself and dive into the elevator. Just before it stops at the Galaxy Mobile Platoon's floor, Gazelle bursts through the elevator floor! Clank stumbles out before the cyborg can get through, and the doors shut behind him. Not for long, however - Gazelle blasts his way into the command room, opening fire anywhere he can while the Platoon members hide out of sight. Stewart and John Tanaka enter, oblivious to the commotion, but dive out of the way when the cyborg opens fire on them. The Platoon are awaiting Rick's return before they can make their move, but Clank appears before Gazelle to try to reach out to him; he's not a bad guy, surely! The cyborg takes aim and fire, but Rick dives and grabs the boy out of the way in the nick of time, informing him this isn't the Gazelle he knows and loves anymore. Not even the alleged might of EAD can stop the cyborg, earning a mean right hook for his troubles. As he takes aim on the fallen robot, Jody blasts him, giving Rick, Jack and EAD a chance to restrain him. Dr. Stewart appears, telling Gazelle he'll give him another examination to see if any malicious programming has been placed inside him... The cyborg's having none of that. He shakes his attackers loose, lifts a heavy cubicle wall and hurls it at them, trapping them long enough for him to make his escape. Rick and Jack give chase, but the damage has been done. Their command center is in ruins, and what they believed to be a trusted friend is now their enemy. The Dragon Bird and Astro Robin pursue the Red Gazelle across the highway, but the cyborg's computer-assisted powers are too high-tech for them. He brakes suddenly to get behind them, then rams Jack's machine with precision accuracy to disable it...this is Rick's fight now! Unfortunately, the Red Gazelle rams the Dragon Bird into the barrier before boosting away, giving him no chance to catch up. Clank gives him an earful about this when he returns, upset about the robot's disappearance, but Rick assures him the two will meet again, hopefully on more pleasant terms. In the meantime, he's repaired the boy's photo pendant, something which cheers him up. Mighty Gazelle is back in the hands of Dark Million, undergoing repairs, but Black Shadow has accomplished all that he needed. Reviving Roy's brain was a gambit to get his paws on Dr. Stewart's medical technology, to create an organism of his own to fight against Captain Falcon. The two racers slow to a halt before a plume of smoke, and out of it steps Blood Falcon, demanding a race with Captain Falcon. Just as suddenly as he appeared, he vanishes in another explosion. The Galaxy Mobile Platoon are quick to investigate this, and witness a Dark Million battle station departing from the scene. Despite having attacked the stadium, the F-Zero Committee have Blood Falcon booked for the next race, and Tanaka orders the Platoon to prevent his victory. Talk of the Falcon duel is all over the Falcon House, and Jack's hopes of defeating the two of them are shattered by Clank, who reads him his embarrassing win-loss ratio to Captain Falcon. The team are called away for practice, and Rick is especially upset by Blood Falcon's request - that punk totally ignored him! Jody visits the Cyborg Graduate School to check on Dr. Stewart and grill him about Blood Falcon - just who is he, what does he want, and why does he look exactly like Captain Falcon? The doctor doesn't appear interested, saying they're bound to find out sooner or later, and he returns to his top secret project. The Platoon arrive early at the upcoming track, Lightning, and express fear over the fact it's situated in the middle of a lightning storm. Not to worry, there are lightning rods to direct the storms away from the track itself. Jody enters, demanding to know where Dr. Stewart is. Clash answers he's off eyeing up the competition...but there's only one other racer at the stadium, and that's...Blood Falcon! While a group of Death Soldiers tend to his Blood Hawk, Dr. Stewart hides in the shadows, loading a pistol with a chemical he had produced in his lab. Mustering up his courage, he leaps out with his gun raised...but his target isn't there! The clone appears behind him and knocks his gun to the floor, the Death Soldiers cornering him on all sides. Blood Falcon cackles before speaking to him: "It's thanks to you that I was born." Shocked, the doctor makes a dive for his pistol, but is stomped to the ground and has a weapon pressed to his face. A shot fires out, disabling the robots and distracting Blood Falcon - it's Jody and Rick! While the captain attends to the doctor, Rick confronts the attacker and sheathes his weapon as the two ready themselves for fisticuffs. Rick opens with a punch, missing twice before they begin grappling...but Blood Falcon is the stronger of the two, kneeing Rick in the gut before punching and upper cutting him against the wall. Before he can even get his breath back, the clone lifts him by the throat and begins choking the life out of him. Jody tries thumping him in the back to no avail, and has Rick thrown on top of her. They urge Dr. Stewart to run to safety, but Blood Falcon advances upon them, more than willing to kill them where they stand. Suddenly, a pin strikes the ground by Blood Falcon's feet... It's Captain Falcon! His arrival is what the clone was really waiting for, and the Captain agrees to his challenge; whoever wins the race is the better man. The Lightning race begins and Captain Falcon is the first one out of the starting grid, leading the race with the Great Star, Astro Robin and Dragon Bird not far behind. In the stadium, Lucy and Jody are grilling the doctor on the gun he was wielding, but Clash tells them to lay off until the race is over; this is an exciting match! Hairpin corners are no match for the leading racers, though they give just enough distance between them for Rick Wheeler and Captain Falcon to take the lead, dueling for first. This is exactly the one-on-one race Rick was hoping for - just a test of skill between him and the Captain with no interference. Unfortunately for them, their rivals are closing in fast - Blood Falcon and Miss Killer! She issues orders to her comrade to eliminate their enemies, but the clone instead pulls a u-turn and drives in the opposite direction! The madman racer comes pounding down on the incoming racers, knocking each and every one of them aside like they weren't even there...and without a single scratch to show for it! The smoking pile of downed machines leaves only the Blood Hawk, Blue Falcon, Moon Shadow and Dragon Bird in the race. The Blood Hawk miraculously catches up to the leading racers from behind, knocking Rick and Miss Killer aside so he can race with Captain Falcon man to man. The two boost ahead, leaving the Dragon Bird and Moon Shadow in the dust - he tries to catch up, but Miss Killer won't let him, ramming him furiously. The two Falcons continue to boost without end, fighting for dominance. They run the loop, race through the tunnel and over the bumps, but there's no telling who's going to take the lead. Blood Falcon is assured of his victory...but Rick calls him out - he's not allowed to beat Captain Falcon! That's his rival! He gives the signal to the Captain, and the two initiate their Spin Booster, giving them a serious burst of speed as they clash passed their rivals. Rick and Falcon take the lead...but the Blood Hawk catches up using its very own Spin Booster - Blood Fire! His machine gets between theirs as the three clash it out, fighting for first as they draw nearer and nearer to the finish line... Suddenly, the Blood Hawk stops spinning and slows down, fumes spilling from its rear. This mechanical failure gives Captain Falcon the gap he needs to make first, Rick taking second and even Miss Killer hitting third before the clone can even sputter passed the finish line. Rick and Captain Falcon rush out of their machines to the Blood Hawk, demanding to challenge the pilot in person. Blood Falcon isn't moving...until he gives a sinister smile. Without warning, a burst of lightning strikes the machine, exploding it in a massive, fiery wreck. Rick is knocked off his feet...and as the rain falls, there is nothing to be found of Blood Falcon amidst the wreckage. Watching this from the stadium, Dr. Stewart finally confesses: Blood Falcon is a clone of Captain Falcon, and the result of Black Shadow stealing his medical data. The serum he had planned to fire at the clone was to degenerate its cells, to make up for his mistake. Being a clone, it's clear Black Shadow has access to a Bio-Study, but the question remains...how did he get Captain Falcon's DNA? As the pit crew clean up on the track, Rick looks to Falcon for guidance. He gives him some ominous words: "Only the one who surpasses Falcon can become Falcon." The Captain leaves without another word, departing silently. Miss Killer returns to Black Shadow's throne room to find it empty, but her master's voice still beckons to her. A hidden elevator carries her to a secret chamber, where he shows her a hallway filled to the brim with containment pods...and inside each and every one of them is a copy of Blood Falcon! 2004年5月11日It has been four years since the death of Jody's brother, Andy Summer, and she visits his grave before returning to town, reflecting on the changes since then; when they were officers, Mute City was a crime-ridden battleground...but now, it could almost be described as peaceful. She spots a man in the crowd that's the spitting image of her brother, but he vanishes before she can track him down. She visits the police morgue, just to confirm what she saw...and it turns out she may be right - Andy's body is nowhere to be found! Even all data about him has vanished from the databases. She passes this info on to Dr. Stewart before beginning her own investigation. Rick enters just as she leaves, and the doctor has a favor he wants him to run... Jody visits the lakeside park to speak to a man who claims to have been a guide at Memory Park when her brother's body was brought in. However, it's too long ago for him to recall. She and Rick take their questions across the city, but have nothing to show for it. News of this reaches Dark Million thanks to Baba, their undercover spy, and Miss Killer tries to think of a way she can work this into an evil scheme. The old man at the park is visited by Rick, asking the same questions, but he reveals something new this time: all the workers at Memory Park were laid off just before the incident...by Jody's command, apparently! He walks off, leaving Rick to stew on that factoid. Driving back to HQ, he remarks to Jody that the affair surrounding her brother is most suspicious, but she demands to know how he came to know about it. She tells him to drop the issue - they have a race at Red Canyon to prepare for, after all! Adjusting her machine before the race, Jody is approached by a shifty-looking ape-man asking for her help. He says he's a subordinate of Miss Killer, assigned to eliminate her competition, but he'll face punishment if she loses. The racers are lining up on the starting grid so there's no time to chat, but the stranger tells her something before he goes: he knows a thing or two about the death of her brother. As the starting grid is filled, Mr. Zero introduces a newcomer to the F-Zero races; the Mad Wolf, piloted by the ape-man, Billy! The lights turn green and Jody's White Cat takes the lead in an instant. Jack and Rick compliment her on the lead, commenting she appears to be giving this race her all, but she claims it's business as usual. The Mad Wolf quickly approaches her machine and begins ramming her, though she's reluctant to react, unsure if there's a hidden ploy behind Billy's actions. Rick and Jack boost in and ram him off the course, eager to save their boss...but off the track, Billy is pursued by a trio of Dark Million drones! They box him in and begin ramming his machine maliciously, prompting Jody to summon Rick as the two go off-course and follow after. Miss Killer smiles; this race just got a lot easier. The two of them catch up and take care of the Death Soldiers, driving them off of cliffs and crashing them into walls to save poor Billy. Jack, meanwhile, has the privilege of fighting Miss Killer for first place, fighting her machine in an attempt to wear it down. While he distracts her, Dr. Stewart boosts passed with ease in his Golden Fox, looking like he's got this victory in the bag...only for the Blue Falcon to overtake at the last second, snatching victory from beneath him! After the race, Billy joins the Platoon in the stadium garage and explains himself: he used to work for Dark Million and was one of many trainees at their pilot training base, where they were put through cruel and difficult exercises. Many trainees died there, including some of Billy's friends. One of his pals is still being held there and was once a guard at Memory Park, so it's possible he may have known Andy Summer. He requests the Platoon to rescue him before he too is killed, but Jody refuses. The Platoon will offer him protection, but she doesn't believe his story. Just out of sight lies the Blue Falcon, and Captain Falcon has been listening to every word... Back at HQ, Jody is about to bring the issue to Tanaka when Rick catches her in the hallway and asks why she's dismissing the possibility Billy's pal really knows something. Telling him their own database states Andy is dead, Rick tells her, "he's not dead so long as he's in your heart." She tells him to bog off. He tries to cool down at the Falcon House, but the issue still hounds him; if her brother meant so much to her, why is Jody so reluctant to share this problem with others? Burt suggests he not get involved with her burden; "maybe destiny has something in store." In a surprise move, Rick quits the Galaxy Mobile Platoon and sets out on his own investigation - his first stop, the Dark Million training grounds! Jody catches wind of this and knows Billy is to blame, having told them where they were located but refusing to come along. The Platoon rush out to find Rick, but scold Billy for lying to them. The poor lug cries in a corner as they leave. The warp gate leads Rick to a cold, inhospitable planet. A race track surrounds a training facility, where broken F-Zero machines lie in wreck and ruin. The place appears abandoned, but inside the building is a prison cell containing a huddled figure covered in rags... As Rick approaches it, a computer screen boots up and Miss Killer mocks him for being such a dope; she'd hoped the whole Platoon could've been here, but beggars can't be choosers. The figure in the cell rises and grips the bars, tearing the entire door off with ease - it's Blood Falcon! Miss Killer wishes him luck, but the clone smashes the screen, proclaiming he does what he wants, and what he wants isn't very nice. Rick tries to attack him, but Blood Falcon is too strong to even react to his blows, and knocks him on his back by smacking him with the door. He prepares to impale him on the bars, only for an F-Zero machine to crash straight through the facility walls: it's Captain Falcon! The very sight of him sends Blood Falcon into a sputtering rage, and he lunges at the Captain with punches and swipes, but he manages to evade most of the attacks. Rick stands up to assist, but finds himself being pulled down by Death Soldiers bursting from beneath the ground! The battle of the Falcons appears equally matched, the two exchanging blows at an equal pace, until the robots grab Captain Falcon as well! Blood Falcon uses this chance to wail into him, punching and crunching against the Captain's torso... Suddenly, explosions ring out across the training grounds. The Galaxy Runner has arrived, Jody, Jack and Dr. Stewart zooming towards the base as their ship opens fire on the facility. Rick frees himself just in time to see all his allies approaching for a full-on assault. The two Falcons depart the exploding facility in their machines, and the Blood Hawk knocks the entire Platoon on their arses; they're no match for him! The Dragon Bird catches him by surprise, catching Blood Falcon's machine on his hood and scraping him across the ground before he wriggles free. The clone performs a U-turn and takes another shot at Rick and Jody, racing towards the two in a dangerous game of chicken. His confidence is shattered when the Blue Falcon enters his path, but he can't turn in time - Captain Falcon's machine smacks him across the side, barely damaging but definitely angering him. Enraged, Blood Falcon catches up to him and tries to crush him against the mountain wall, but even Captain Falcon's too good for that - he drives up the wall, dismounts and slides across the Blood Hawk's roof. The two stop and face each other, before the clone comes barrelling towards him! The Blue Falcon kicks into reverse, keeping ahead of his enemy but only by a fraction - the Blood Hawk is gaining closer and closer. Just when it looks like he's nowhere left to run, the Captain swerves to the side and watches Blood Falcon keep driving - right off the side of a cliff! Watching the clone and his machine explode at the bottom, Captain Falcon makes his exit as Jody watches, pondering how he knew they were here. The Platoon catch up to Rick and simultaneously praise and scold him - they can't tell if it was brave or stupid of him to come here, knowing fully well that it would be a trap. Jody, however, thanks Rick for his hard work. He's helped clear the doubts she held, and the words he told her earlier have helped her come to terms with her brother's death; so long as she remembers him, he will never be gone. She also relays a message from Tanaka onto him: about his resignation...is he still going ahead with that? The rest of the Platoon answers for him: no way! At Platoon headquarters, Billy receives more harsh words from Jack and Rick, eager to know if anything he said was true. He did receive training on those grounds, but he simply wanted as much distance between him and Dark Million as possible. Despite the trouble he's caused them, Jack claims Billy's got the potential to be an excellent pilot someday, which cheers him up tremendously. Enjoying a coffee in the city, Jody listens in to a brother and sister reuniting, a little wistful to the relationship she lost. Come the next F-Zero race he's in fine fettle, duking it out with Jack Levin for first place. They may be comrades, but that doesn't mean they'll take it easy on each other! The Dragon Bird pushes the Astro Robin aside as Rick prepares to activate his booster, but his dashboard glows as an image flashes into his head - Zoda's Reactor Might. His machine begins to wobble and weave, giving Jack the chance to snatch first place. Fearing his machine encountered a technical fault, Lucy and Clash took a gander at the Dragon Bird's internals, but there's only so much they can do - after all, its engine came from an unknown source, and it may hold secrets the mechanics don't know. Fearing Rick's uptight about something, Jack offers him the best treatment he can prescribe - partying! Lucy threatens to squeal to the boss if they're late for tomorrow's race. In a void of infinite blackness, the Death Anchor drives aimlessly, boosting through the air and other aerodynamic feats...but no matter what he tries, Zoda remains trapped. He screams into the darkness demanding to be released, but no one hears him. The Reactor Might trembles...and Black Shadow, in his headquarters far in the depths of space, appears to acknowledge it. He finds Miss Killer and informs her she has no need to attend the upcoming race - he has an entire fleet of Blood Falcons to fill in for her! Rick stumbles into the stadium the next day, groggy from a full night of breaking loose. Lucy is quick to scold him for his tardiness - even Jack got here earlier than him, but only because the scamp slept in the Astro Robin overnight. Jack laughs at him for actually going home to sleep - that's total scrub-tier sleeping technique - but Rick is actually feeling refreshed, so the party clearly did him some good! The racers line up on the starting grid, Captain Falcon among them, and he has a bad feeling about this; the grid is unusually packed today. Rick notices the Wonder Wasp among the lineup, commenting that Tanaka never even told them he'd be taking part, but it's Jody's observation that really clinches it: the entire Platoon's machines are on the circuit, but Stewart, EAD and Clash are still back at the stadium! The lights turn green and every machine bursts onto the track, though Jack, Jody and Rick are quickly approached from behind by the imposter Platoon ships. Captain Falcon assesses the racers' movements, and notices they're all working in a perfect grid...suddenly, the machines shimmer and reveal their true selves: all these imposter machines are actually Blood Hawks, and inside each and every one of them is a duplicate Blood Falcon! Mr. Zero goes ballistic at the sight of this - what an exciting twist! Miss Killer, watching this from Dark Million's space station, has a different opinion - did Black Shadow do this because of her failure to defeat Rick and Captain Falcon? Her boss denied the claim, answering the Reactor Might had the power to clone Blood Falcon, and he has his own reasons for entering them in the race...but that doesn't mean he's going to tell her. The five real racers find themselves at the front of an incoming pack of Blood Hawks, each and every one of them waiting as if to pounce. Just as Jody warns the Platoon to stay calm, she, Lucy and Jack are rammed from behind, putting their machines out of commission, leaving only Rick and Captain Falcon ahead of the Hawks... As if things weren't bad enough, the monstrous Black Bull appears on the track ahead, bearing down on them at tremendous speeds! Black Shadow sets his machine to boost, clipping the barrier to send his machine spiralling through the air, creating a portal with his vapor trails! There's no time to react for anyone to react...and Rick, Captain Falcon and the legion of Blood Hawks find themselves sucked inside, spiralling deep into the void before it seals. The Black Bull mounts the track again and makes its exit unseen, leaving the audience and the Platoon to wonder whatever could have happened. Finding himself in a well of infinite blackness, Rick tries to call Jody for support, but his communicator has no signal. Spotting a flaming wreck in the distance, he zooms over to it, finding a burning Blood Hawk slowly disappearing into the inky waters beneath them. All the time, he has the feeling someone, or something, is watching him... He spots Captain Falcon getting harassed by two more Blood Hawks, and he quickly intervenes, allowing the two to defeat them with ease. The Captain explains where they are: this is Dark Space, a well of pure evil that enhances the powers of dark-hearted individuals. Rick is keen to find his way out of here - everyone's gonna worry about him! - when he hears a familiar voice calling him from afar... It's Jack! Relieved that Rick is okay, he prepares to lead him back to the rest of the Platoon until Captain Falcon cries out to him - Jack has a gun trained on him! Rick dodges just in time, but the sight of his friend out for his blood is plenty shocking. The Captain tries to get involved, but finds a hand tugging him from beneath the waters...Zoda! He urges him not to get involved, he wants to see how this plays out. Rick kicks the gun from Jack's hand, but is shoved to the ground as Levin's hands wrap around his neck. Falcon warns him this isn't his real friend, it's an illusion - shoot him already! Rick raises his gun, but can't find it in him to shoot his best friend. Disappointed, Zoda releases the Captain and Jack's apparition fizzles out of existence. The Death Anchor rises from the depths and Zoda comes to greet his two visitors - have they come all this way to defeat him personally? He mocks Rick for being so sentimental over even a murderous clone of his friend, but his spiel is interrupted by an incoming fleet of Blood Hawks. Rick and Falcon run to their vehicles, but sensing energy from his Reactor Might, Zoda faces them head-on. As he stands before them, a vortex generates from his abdomen, sweeping the Blood Hawks off the ground and sucking them into his Reactor Might, obliterating every last one of the Blood Falcons. The Reactor Might begins to glow...and Zoda finds his body growing bigger and stronger than before. Merely boarding his Death Anchor gives it the same treatment, turning it into a far more threatening vessel than it once was. It is no longer the Death Anchor...it is the Hyper Death Anchor, and he shall now be called Hyper Zoda! His machine now boosts like a force to be reckoned with...but it still is not up to his demands. He stops by the two and asks for their help - Black Shadow may have trapped them in Dark Space, but the combined might of their Boost Fires may be just what it takes to get them out of here! Rick refuses to assist his hated enemy, but the way Captain Falcon sees it, there's no other choice. The three machines line up and boost simultaneously...but it's no good. Zoda tells Rick to pick up the slack; there's no way this is the best his machine can offer! He radiates energy from his Reactor Might to lend him some added punch, and the Dragon Bird's cockpit glows a radiant golden - its engine contains a Reactor Might, just like the Blue Falcon and Black Bull! Rick is shocked by the revelation, but Zoda doesn't care to explain - now that its true potential has been activated, their combined Boost Fire now boasts inconceivable power - enough to tear a hole in Dark Space and return them to the real world! Jack, Jody and Lucy are still trawling the race track, eager to find any sign of their missing comrade, when a glowing portal opens from behind the Astro Robin...and out of it flies the Dragon Bird! Jack approaches and wakes up the unconscious Rick, who almost believes another apparition is attacking him again. He's relieved to find his friend safe and sound and is eager to hear of where he went, but before Rick can answer, the crowd breaks into raucous applause... Zoda is welcomed back with cheers and open arms from the audience, and he can't get enough of having fans again. "You can't keep me down!" Captain Falcon explains to Jack that he and Rick were mere pawns in a scheme to free that villain from his cosmic prison; even Miss Killer can't believe his return, but Black Shadow responds to the news with an evil cackle. 2004年5月25日The Galaxy Mobile Platoon are on the run from a mounted gun turret as part of their latest training exercise - a strict regime devised by James McCloud to make them think fast, react faster, and treat their opponents ruthlessly. Rick demonstrates by ramming the Astro Robin from behind, unseen amidst the rain of gunfire. James's technique is derived from fighter plane combat, where cunning and reflexes are all you have to top your enemies. The group aren't at all happy with this - F-Zero shouldn't be treated like warfare! - but they only get threatened with the gun again for speaking up. Rick, however, deduces their trainer has a military background, and is impressed with his technique. The next day, Jody and Stewart approach Tanaka with the intention of complaining about the drill sergeant he hired, but the director gushes over him too much for them to speak up. He spent a lot of dough to get this guy and James came recommended from a reliable source, so he's keen to see some results! John talks away in high spirits, but Jody and the doctor instead ponder who could ever have recommended McCloud. Jack and the crew share their discontent about James in the command room. Not only is his militaristic regime unfitting to the Platoon, but it causes untold amounts of damage to their machines as well; Clash has gotta fix those things, y'know! Jack has his own complaints and proceeds to make a really dreadful impersonation of McCloud...failing to notice he's standing right behind him. He beckons the crew out for more training, but Rick's the only one willing to take him up on the offer. The Dragon Bird and the Little Wyvern undergo more training, James refusing to give Rick any slack...but he's not willing to give up and wants to have another go, wishing to know his attack techniques. He needs to know how to fight Dark Million. James admires the man's gusto, and is reminded of an old comrade he once had. Rick wants to know more about his time in the military - how could the army have let go such a skilled pilot? - but McCloud refuses to answer, instead reminding Rick he's free to dropout if the going gets too tough for him. He doesn't plan on it - he's got faith in his skills. Rick invites his trainer to the Falcon House to sample their famous coffee - Burt and Clank tailor the making of each cup to each customer's specific taste, y'know! James and Rick get the same style of coffee, but while Rick takes it with milk, James takes it black (he's sweet enough, thanks). Clank tries to read into this with psychology, but Rick doesn't see what the big deal is. James has his fill and abruptly leaves, and even Clank can tell that guy's got a cold shoulder. In the Galaxy Mobile Platoon base, James is busy communicating on the computer when Jody enters, prompting him to shut it off. That was a private conversation, he proclaims, and skulks away. Once he's out of sight, Jody contacts Clank to look into who he was talking to, and a quick bit of hacking reveals it to be...Bio Rex?! Octoman and Bio Rex go over their battle strategy for the next race and gush about their contact - he really looks out for the little guy, doesn't he? - when Miss Killer appears, curious to know what they're talking about. They boast they'll defeat Rick Wheeler for sure this time, and she smirks at the thought of it. Come the next race, Rick and James are in the stadium about to get ready, only to find Jody waiting for them... She asks James if he'll be taking part; of course, he's a member of the Platoon now. She reveals she knows who he was contacting, and the recommendations Tanaka received about him were fabricated...so where do his ties lie with Dark Million? James fesses up - he's a mercenary, he'll train anyone who'll foot the bill, Dark Million included. But why? To be the champion, of course! While he sics the two factions against each other, he already knows what tactics to expect and can sail passed them to victory. Rick feels used by this revelation, but James declaring this race to be his final lesson and departs, reminding him betrayal is a mere fact of life. The Platoon stew over this in the starting grid, but at least with it out in the open they can focus on their main objective again. The racers start their engines, and once on the track Octoman and Bio Rex quickly find targets to test their newfound skills upon. Lucy comes under attack, but she and Jack fight back using the same manuevers, surprising their opponents. While they're feuding the Little Wyvern breezes passed them, and Miss Killer spills the beans to her lackeys; this is exactly what their trainer wants them to do. This infuriates them but only makes their resolve grow fiercer - they have to win this race for sure! While the Platoon and Dark Million are locked in bitter combat, Rick is stuck behind the warring crowd and James McCloud is far, far, far out in front. Acknowledging this, Jack and Lucy barge the Deep Claw and Big Fang out of the way, allowing Rick to slip passed the Moon Shadow and trigger his Spin Booster! The Dragon Bird and Little Wyvern are neck and neck, but ultimately, James McCloud takes first place. The Platoon are a bit salty about this, but in the end they prevented Dark Million from winning, and that's all that counts. Speaking of Dark Million...where's Miss Killer? The mercenary is cornered by her and a shower of Death Soldiers in the parking garage, eager to repay him for his trickery and lies with a few laser blasts to the cranium. James is thankful these bums are so predictable and blows up the robots with a grenade, making his getaway...failing to account for a second wave of them to pop out and corner him. Just when it looks like he's done for, the Dragon Bird appears and barges the drones aside, allowing James to board and make his getaway. Octoman tries to stop them but Rick shows him some violent driving, causing a pile up of Dark Million racers as they safely escape. A safe distance away, James wishes to ask why Rick risked his neck for him. "Because we drink the same kind of coffee." The mercenary reminds him he takes his black, so their tastes and ideals don't totally coincide...but he feels free to open up to his trainee. O'Donnell was the name of James' comrade, and the two of them joined the army together. On a search and rescue mission their transport was shot down over enemy terrain, O'Donnell carrying his friend to safety from the burning wreckage. They called for rescue, but as far as command were concerned, the battle was over; sending in another ship would break the treaty. Despite that, McCloud and O'Donnell were still under heavy enemy fire. To give his wounded buddy an opening to flee, O'Donnell charged towards the hail of gunfire, sacrificing himself to distract them from James' escape. Since that incident, he's refused to trust anyone. Rick calls him out on his BS - his squadron must've felt bad for having to abandon them, and it's not like he's above that; he abandoned the people he was meant to rescue. James tells him he could never understand his pain, but Rick shows off his skills in the Dragon Bird, owing a lot of it to his mentor's training. He commends James for his skill, despite being a bit of a dirtbag, and hopes he reunites with O'Donnell on the other side. McCloud walks into the sunset without thanking him. The Platoon unwind at the Falcon House, complaining that Tanaka's to blame for this whole incident, while Rick fears James will never return again; will he live the rest of his life a cold, distrustful individual? Burt tells him he popped over to the café earlier and tried a new style of coffee, so he may not know it, but he may on the road to change. Rick ponders if he's still drinking bitter coffee, wherever he is... He rams aside every racer in its way, but it's them who he's really after! The Red Gazelle catches up and begins laying into them - they're already at their maximum speed so they haven't a chance of outrunning it. Just when it looks like they're snookered, the Blue Falcon makes a dramatic entrance using its Spin Booster... and rams the Red Gazelle onto its side. The Platoon rush to check on the cyborg, who stumbles out of the wreckage before collapsing, sparking and sizzling. Captain Falcon departs; his work here is done. This attack is monitored by the members of Dark Million, and Miss Killer is trying to work out who among them made the order for Gazelle to attack. Zoda owns up to it, claiming that hunk of junk needed to show its worth once in a while; Miss Killer scolds him for acting without their master's orders, but Black Shadow isn't fussed. Zoda may be acting of his own accord, but his true purpose will come in due time. In the space station's hangar, Bio Rex and Octoman are secretly discussing the power play going on with their superiors, believing Black Shadow now favors Zoda over Miss Killer. While discussing which of the two to root for, Miss Killer steps in and reminds the two of the consequences of betrayal. Gazelle is brought home for repairs while Clank gets uppity about the situation; he thinks the cyborg is a hazard and should be dismantled before he injures or betrays anyone again. The Platoon argue he was being controlled by Dark Million and such a thing will never happen again, but the boy leaves in a huff. The others enquire about Gazelle's repairs, and he's just about ready to be released. His internals have been given a clean sweep, purging any and all components Dark Million installed within him and erasing his memory, resetting him back to a child-like state. As such, someone needs to babysit him until he's more independent. Jack quickly opts out, but Jody already had someone in mind... Clank wants nothing to do with it, but, Rick, Lucy and Burt gently pressure him into taking the task. Dr. Stewart wouldn't have gone to such lengths to revive him if he hadn't been such a reliable officer, and Burt claims Captain Falcon would want the best for the cyborg. The kid accepts, and is brought back to HQ to be re-introduced to Mighty Gazelle. "I'm Gazelle. Pleased to meet you!" The boy is disappointed that he doesn't remember him, until he's told of the cyborg's memory erasure. Clank is tasked with bringing him up to speed, showing him right from wrong, and demonstrating how to behave like a proper police officer. Their first course of action: cleaning this room! Gazelle promptly picks up Jack and asks which trash recepticle he belongs in. At the Falcon House, Rick, Jack and Lucy fill in Burt on how everyone's favorite cyborg is getting on. He's very punctual and eager to help, if a little clueless at times - when asked to buff the machines, EAD got the treamtment as well, and a friendly offer to massage director Tanaka's shoulders nearly broke his neck. The director's giving him a wide berth, but aside from that, Clank and Gazelle make a good team! The two of them are even taking a test drive on the Platoon's private track, helping Gazelle get re-acquainted with his F-Zero machine. Even with his memory reset, the cyborg takes to it like a fish to water. Jody and Stewart only hope he'll be able to remember his true identity in future, though they don't want to rush it - Gazelle and Clank are both in a sensitive state at the moment. Rick and the gang return to find Clank having a row with Gazelle - that bucket of bolts threw his photo pendant in the trash! The kid takes it very personally, but as far as the cyborg is concerned, he was merely following orders. Jack and Lucy calm him down; the garbage won't be disposed of until later, they've got time to try and find it. Gazelle is quick to act on this, though Jack only gets involved when he discovers his little black book was among the items chucked out. Jack quickly reclaims his list of babes' phone numbers, but the others are not so lucky; Clank storms out and the others gradually leave, until Gazelle is the only one left looking. He eventually finds the pendant at long last, and is curious why it meant so much to the boy. He places it on his hand and opens the pendant, revealing a picture of the boy and his father...triggering indistinct memories in Gazelle's head. The rest of the gang are relaxing in the command room, wondering what the big lug could be up to. They complain to Jody about his little incident while cleaning up, upset about their possesions he threw out and wondering why he's such a klutz all of a sudden. She and Stewart ask they treat the cyborg with respect, as he still needs time to recover; Lucy says it'll only be a matter of time until Gazelle remembers he's Clank's father. "... is this true?" The Platoon react in shock to Clank's sudden eavesdropping, but don't even have time to backpedal - Clank is upset at their remarks and refuses to believe that cold, heartless machine could be his father. He runs out of the room, spewing hatred at Gazelle along the way...as the cyborg enters the room. He found the pendant! Rick is taken aback that he had been searching all this time for the boy's most treasured possession, but the cyborg turns and leaves after handing it to him. Gazelle visits the observation room, reminiscing on these strange new experiences. Dr. Stewart enters and tries to help explain things to him: he is Roy Hughes, and Clank is his son. It's a little too soon for him to fully process things, so the doctor leaves him to it. Rick and Burt finally track down Clank at the lakeside park, where he's been crying to himself. He's overjoyed to be reunited with his pendant, and is stirred to hear that Gazelle was responsible for finding it. The next F-Zero race is under way, and Octoman and Bio Rex are leading out of the starting line - they've lost Gazelle and Zoda isn't participating, so they deem it wise to root for Miss Killer's victory. Clank enters the stadium to ask why Gazelle isn't racing; Clash says it's too early for him to take part and is back at headquarters. He's been lonely without Clank's company. Miss Killer takes the lead with the Big Fang and Deep Claw guarding her rear, but that won't stop Rick barging through using his Boost Fire. Suddenly, the Red Gazelle appears up ahead, coming right his way! The Platoon are suitably surprised, and Clank fears the big dumb idiot has betrayed them again. The Dark Million posse cheer on Gazelle's return...only to be knocked right off the track by the rampaging robot. As Clank exits the stadium he finds Gazelle parking and exiting his vehicle, slowly approaching him. The boy cowers in fear, no idea what to expect from his one-time friend as Dr. Stewart readies his pistol...only to find himself held in the cyborg's warm embrace. Confused at first, Clank is instantly reminded of the affectionate hugs and cuddles he and his father shared when he was still alive...It's true. Gazelle is his father, and the cyborg couldn't be happier to be with him once more. The happy reunion is spoilt by the sound of evil cackling over a loudspeaker. Zoda has arrived in a Dark Million battle station with a little present to drop on them: a big stinkin' missile! The Platoon quickly run for cover, hiding inside a convenient bomb shelter...but the shutters close before Clank and Gazelle can get inside, and there's no time to open them - the bomb has dropped! The track and the stadium face utter devastation as Gazelle protects Clank with his body, shielding him from the tremendous blast. Once the dust settles, the shutter opens to reveal a cracked and battered Gazelle...and Clank, who is totally untouched. The cyborg slowly rises to his feet...but there is no power left within him, and he topples backwards to the ground. Clank rushes to his father's side, begging him to stay awake and apologizing for every bad thing he ever said about him, but Gazelle's consciousness slowly fades. Black Shadow reminds her she isn't just a mere pawn to win prize money, she's a trained assassin! Go out there and kill those guys, or something, I don't know! Isn't that what she's named for?! A feature reel of Captain Falcon's victories is playing on television, asking just who is this mysterious racer? Watching this in the Falcon House, Clank repeats the question to Burt but gets a nondescript answer; he doesn't know, and some folks just carry secrets, that's all. Rick and Lucy enter and order their usual, and Burt tells them the café will be shut tomorrow - he'll be out watching the upcoming F-Zero race! Clank realizes he's never attended an F-Zero race with Burt, though the café owner claims it's just a personal matter. That must mean Burt has a hot date! He's shocked at this answer, but Rick and Lucy quickly tell Clank not to interfere; this is a grown-up's only event. That night, Clank is sleeping soundly in his room, but what he doesn't know...is that Burt is nowhere to be found. At the stadium the next day, Clank is busy spying on the audience through his binoculars, eager to see what his boss is up to...and more importantly, what his girlfriend looks like! He spies Burt marching up the staircase - with an extra cup! - and sees him pass it on to a real babe. Pleased to see what he's up to, he resumes assisting Clash on repairs, missing Burt walking passed the woman and further up the stairs. The drink was merely a gift between total strangers. The Mute City Grand Prix is about to begin, and the Blue Falcon makes it to the starting grid just in time. Rick greets him with respect, and the two are the first out of the starting line, eager to challenge each other once more. Miss Killer isn't far behind, eager to please her doubting master, but the Dark Million grunts are tripping over themselves for a chance to tackle Rick and the Captain. Baba approaches Rick from the rear, but a quick strike from the Dragon Bird sends hurtling backwards, toppling over the Moon Shadow in the process. Her machine konked out, Miss Killer can only watch in anguish as the Dragon Bird and Blue Falcon initiate their Boost Fire, putting up a furious fight for first place. In the end Rick claims first place, and Clash and Clank couldn't be more chuffed. The two winners (and Super Arrow!) are heaped with praise on the winners' podium, and are presented with flowers from race queens. Rick is too caught up in the excitement to notice something peculiar with the race queen approaching him... She presses a button on her bouquet and a piercing laser shoots out from between the roses - Captain Falcon shoves her and Rick aside just in time, but takes a blast to his left shoulder. He slumps to the ground wounded, but Rick chases after the race queen first of all. That's no race queen - that's Miss Killer in a wig! The fellow Platoon members rush to Rick's aid, but she fends them off with throwing knives. When normal heroes fails, that is the moment for superheroes to intervene! Super Arrow prepares to make a dynamic launch...only for Miss Killer to step on his cape, sending him crashing to the ground. She makes her escape as the ambulance arrives, Jack giving chase, but amidst the chaos Rick turns to assess everything around him. Captain Falcon has vanished! Rick and Clank catch up to him in the stadium's parking lot, noticing his wound and demanding he go to a hospital, but the Captain zooms off without response. In an unknown location, the Blue Falcon emerges from a warp gate and its pilot stumbles out, disappearing up an ominous staircase... Clank returns to the Falcon House that evening and enquires about Burt's date. He instead remarks what a surprise turn-out the race had, only to Clank to comment on Captain Falcon's attack after the race - why would he be on Dark Million's hitlist? Burt suddenly drops and shatters a cup across the ground, but expresses discomfort in his left shoulder while collecting the pieces. He claims to have pulled a muscle, and chooses to close early. While researching Captain Falcon in his room, Clank hears strange noises from the hallway and nervously goes to investigate. He finds nothing, but reflects on what's seen and heard today - Captain Falcon hurt his shoulder at the race, and Burt's having trouble with his. He's watched races with Burt on television, but anytime he goes to the stadium he closes shop...and every match he watched with Burt, Captain Falcon did not attend! If that's the case, where does the Blue Falcon live? Clank decides to ask his boss directly, but finds the entire café is empty; Burt is nowhere to be found. Well, while he's down here, he might as well treat himself to some OJ... But as he pulls out a bottle, he finds it's no standard bottle of fruit juice, it's a canister easily six feet long! Puzzled, he puts it back where he found it...only to hear a mechanical clunk. The fridge seals itself shut and slides out of sight, revealing a secret doorway behind it! Clank peeks within, finding an ominous staircase leading downwards... A secret basement! More than a basement, this looks like a fortified hangar. The moment he steps through the door, the lights turn on and reveal a surprising sight: the Blue Falcon! Then that means his rescue by Captain Falcon and being taken in by Burt weren't just wild coincidences... A voice echoes from behind him: "I knew you'd figure it out." Captain Falcon appears before Clank, still clutching his wounded shoulder before raising his visor. There's no doubt about it, Burt Lemming is Captain Falcon! But if that's the case, then that means he knew Clank's father, Roy Hughes, right? Falcon apologizes for keeping up this lie; Roy was his best friend and the two of them were close comrades, though even he never knew his true identity for most of his life. He won't reveal all just this moment, but he tells the boy this: his father was a brave man who sacrificed his life in the pursuit of justice. He was a deep cover spy among Dark Million's ranks, but that fateful day Falcon attacked one of their transport ships, he never knew the boy's father was aboard. While Roy gave his life to protect him from Zoda's assault, he finally deduced who Captain Falcon really was... Andy Summer! The Captain clutches his shoulder and apologizes once more for his veil of secrecy, but Clank owes his newfound life to the man. He would have remained a criminal hacker had he remained on Forno, and although his father is a cyborg and still undergoing repairs, he would never have escaped Dark Million's control if Falcon had not interfered. He's pleased to have had such a positive impact on the boy's life, but asks Clank to keep this a secret. He, and only he, knows Captain Falcon's true identity. The next morning, Rick and Lucy visit the Falcon House to find Clank manning the counter, learning the ways of serving coffee. Rick, however, is reflecting on yesterday's events - Captain Falcon risked his life for him. Concerned about the mysterious man's wellbeing, Clank assures him Falcon has a special little someone looking after him, though Lucy interprets this as the man having a girlfriend. Miss Killer looks just like his 21st century girlfriend, Haruka Misaki! Rick's dreams are still haunted by Zoda, the criminal he's been chasing since the year 2051...when will the hunt for justice ever end? Clank returns to the Falcon House with trinkets from his visit to Alias, a fellow boy F-Zero fan, and brought home some intriguing discoveries - a photo of Rick in his Formula One days, and what appears to be Haruka's diary. Curious why those were in Alias's house, Clank explains his place is full of weird crap, including a secret room. That still doesn't explain why his stuff is in their house; perhaps Alias's family are Haruka's descendants, though that seems unlikely. Rick takes the diary with him to check it himself, though Clank is disappointed he doesn't get to see what's inside. The first page of the diary mentions Haruka's friend Rose introducing her to Rick for the first time, and as far as he was concerned, it was destiny. That's a cute way of saying it; at that time Rick was a chump driver who rarely won races, though Haruka was always there to lift him up and raise his spirits. The two grew more intimate, and Rick had planned to surprise her with a proposal ring, though his fateful pursuit of Zoda obviously put a snag in that plan. Or more accurately, a car door right through his freakin' face. 150-year photo from Haruka's diary The diary explains what happens after his accident: Rose, a New York police officer, granted Haruka permission to see Rick, but it was too late, he was already being put into cold sleep...and that was the last time she ever saw him. While Rick was destined to reawake in a world unlike his own...Haruka was left to cope with her grief. The police were doing everything they could to bring Zoda to justice, but that wasn't enough for her; if they couldn't do it, she'd take care of it herself. Rose tried convincing her not to, but it was to no avail. Haruka may have been scared, but this was the only answer she knew of. Reading this, Rick returns to Platoon HQ to request everything they have on his girlfriend, though Jody and Stewart already researched her back before they revived him. They found nothing concrete on her, but they'd be willing to run another check, though the two are concerned about the truth...if Haruka really is revived and under Dark Million's command...! Rick takes what he's learnt to the Falcon House for everyone to muse upon. Well, it's pretty clear that Haruka never got revenge if Zoda's still alive and kicking 150 years later, though that doesn't mean no one came close. Back when Zoda was the tyrant of New York City, a fat cash reward was offered for his capture, and one of his minions snitched to the police: he would be attacking the East Bank. Rose and the cops had a trap prepared for him, though despite having this in the bag, they still found Haruka lurking around the precinct, eager for justice. The cops lay in wait, watching as Zoda crashed a lorry right through the front of the bank and began raising a ruckus--only to find the joint deserted! Potted plants and pillars removed their disguises to reveal police capture drones, firing lasers at the dissidents and filling the zone with freezing gas. Zoda was captured at last! Rose rushed to Haruka's apartment to spring the good news on her, but the race queen was nowhere to be found. Only a diary and a letter lay on her table, repeating her desire to take on Zoda herself. Rose penned the last entry in the diary, stating Zoda had been escorted to the freezing facility before she could reach the bank, and Haruka was nowhere to be found. She could only hope this diary would find its way into Rick's hands... The Platoon boo over the bummer ending. All those questions left unanswered! Did Haruka defeat Zoda? Where is she now? Rick reflects on his first encounter with Miss Killer, and how his proposal ring is what sent her running. No way, that can't mean...! Meanwhile, Zoda is having a right feast in Dark Million's space station, sending Bio Rex and Octoman running to supply him with more and more sugary treats. He never ate a bite when he was in Dark Space! Miss Killer peeks in from the hallway to taunt him on what a big fat gorge he is, before going on her merry way. Zoda fumes over the woman's persistent attitude towards him, and wonders why she enjoys insulting him so much. His Reactor Might opens, expelling energy and refreshing his memory, allowing him to remember when he was caught in the police's freezing trap...when Haruka Misaki appeared from the mist, pointing a gun at him! Although determined, she couldn't bring herself to fire before the two of them were engulfed in the mist and frozen. So that must mean he wasn't alone when he was put in cold sleep - she was along for the ride! Things have just gotten interesting... So what's up with cold sleep anyway? It's a system designed for convenient space travel but also to store its contents for long lengths of time; Rick, for instance, was put in cold sleep until medical science could tend his mortal injuries. The pilot of the Wild Boar exits his ship and approaches the police; just who is this guy? "I am the Thunderous Shinigami. Remember that name!" Earlier in the day, Lucy caught sight of the Bloody Chain passing by with a curious addition to their ranks: the Astro Robin? Fearing for Jack's safety, Rick and Lucy hit the streets at night to go looking for them, but to no avail. All they found was vehicle wreckage in an alleyway, with one of Jack's earrings lying nearby. Jack gets a right chuckle out of this the next day at the Falcon House; they went to all that trouble just for him? When asked why he was among a group of thugs, he claims they were his adoring fans, and blames his carelessness for why his earring was lost. Clank warns him to be safe out there; there's a nasty fellow going around calling himself the Shinigami, who's been responsible for the destruction of multiple rival gangs, including several police cars a couple of days ago. Burt is surprised; he thought the Shinigami has vanished from the gang warfare business years ago. Despite what's been said about this biker, Jack is still keen to take him on himself. A group of thugs drive noisily passed outside, and Jack claims he's just remembered some urgent business he needs to attend to, and leaves. As he drives away, he recalls a recent incident... He had approached Michael Chain, leader of the Bloody Chain, to ask if he was trying to revive the Shinigami. Of course! The Bloody Chain are threatening and all, but the Shinigami was the baddest mofo there was, reigning over Mute City with an iron fist. He presents the helmet to Jack but the Platoon member leaves; he'd never want to return to that dirty business. "I'll be waiting," Mike sneers. Michael Chain, dressed as the Shinigami, returns to his hideout to meet up with Baba, who asks Chain how his mission is coming along. He's getting tired of the Galaxy Mobile Platoon being such a nuisance, but Baba urges him to keep at it - if he can eventually goad Jack back out of the Platoon, that'll be enough of an accomplishment...and after that, he'll introduce him to Zoda! After all, that guy would be nothing without Baba's elite spying skills. Mike isn't sure how much he believes him, but it's a privilege worth working for. The Bloody Chain hit the streets, wreaking carnage and mayhem... More police cars are destroyed and a burning street is left in their wake as Chain turns to a security camera: the Shinigami is waiting for you, Jack! Rick, Jody and Jack catch wind of this at Platoon HQ but arresting dumb thugs isn't in their job description, so she urges the others not to do anything about this. Jody is summoned to the chief's office for a little talk... So, she kept Jack's previous exploits a secret from them, did she? Jody explains he's a hardworking member of the Galaxy Mobile Platoon now and would never return to his old ways. However, Jack catches wind of this from the hallway, and the group later receive a video message from him: he's resigning from the Platoon. His talents are wasted on those bozos! The team are upset and desperate to ask him to reconsider, but Jody shoots them down; it was his decision, so they shouldn't interfere. Jody leaves the room but is stopped by Clash - is she going to find Jack all by herself? Boy, she's stubborn. She claims he is her sole responsibility, but the rest of the gang flood in to challenge that notion - Jack is a dear friend to all of them, and they would never want him to go without their support! Seeing how much they care for him, Jody lets the cat out of the bag: Jack is the Shinigami. She first met Jack when she was an officer in the Galaxy Police, and Jack was a reckless, troublesome street thug. Hot on his trail, a careless turn left Jack flying off his bike, allowing Jody to catch up to him...but more importantly, ask if he was feeling okay. That incident allowed Jack to reshape his life, and he was offered a spot in the Platoon. The Shinigami was retired from that moment on...though someone else is currently trying to bring him back. The group begin prowling the streets, hoping to find any sign of either Jack Levin or Michael Chain. Suddenly, a group of pimped-out bikes appear from behind Rick's Dragon Bird, opening fire upon him - this must be the Bloody Chain! Rick dodges their laser fire and weaves through alleyways, though they have no intent on giving up. He dispatches one by grinding it against a storefront, though two more are still on his tail. A newcomer enters the mix and destroys one of the attackers - it's the Astro Robin! With its help, the two manage to eliminate all their pursuers. One of the bikers crawls out of his wreckage to a terrifying sight: "Tell Michael the one true Shinigami is back!" The gang members make their exit and Rick realizes this is Jack in his street thug uniform. He reminds Jack that he doesn't need to take on his problem alone, and sharing burdens is what friends are for, but Jack is very standoff-ish; this is his feud and he wants nobody else to be part of it. The two are surrounded by the Bloody Chain, and Michael steps out to applaud Jack on getting his groove back. Jack challenges him to a time trial: if he loses, he'll join Mike's gang, but if he wins, the Bloody Chain must be disbanded. Michael solemnly agrees and the group make their way to the race zone. Jack wishes that Rick never interfered; this is a problem he wanted to solve himself, without putting his friends under pressure. Rick assures him he's not here because he was given orders; they're all worried for him because he's their friend! The Bloody Chain crash through a set of barriers, approaching a part of the highway that's still under construction, the road ending suddenly not far ahead. Michael and Jack begin the race, the two clashing their machines together before Jack smacks the Wild Boar from behind. Chain appreciates the challenge; the Shinigami hasn't lost his vicious edge! Suddenly, the Astro Robin comes under attack from behind - it's Baba's Iron Tiger! Jack calls his opponent out on his cheating BS, though Mike reminds him he's only in this to win. The Dragon Bird zooms in from behind and sends the Iron Tiger flying, making the match fair again. Jack doesn't approve of that either. The end of the road is quickly mounting on the two racers, forcing them to brake in the nick of time, their machines hanging over the edge of the highway. Just when he remarks they're on equal ground, Jack gets a smack around the gob: it's time for round two, fisticuffs! The two begin wailing into each other with mean hooks and fearsome blows... Jody arrives on the scene but can only watch, as Rick urges her to let Jack resolve this himself. Jack dodges several swipes from Michael and tries to grapple with him, but he hasn't the strength to pin him against his machine. So he begins shoving him towards the highway's edge...only for the road to collapse beneath them! The two grab on to iron bars just in time, but the Wild Boar topples off into the forest below. Michael's had enough, but Jack continues to flail at his opponent in a desperate attempt to defeat him - this isn't over yet! Rick rushes over to call him an idiot. This isn't how a member of the Galaxy Mobile Platoon should behave! Jody extends her hand out to him, and seeing her as the supportive, caring officer who helped him quit his life of crime, he reaches out to her. The police arrive and take Michael, Baba and the Bloody Chain into custody. Jack removes his helmet and tosses it into the flames below, retiring the Shinigami once and for all. Rick and Jody help him back to the police station, where the chief has a few stern words for him. His history of street crime and recent abandoning of his duties have been blights on his record...but with the capture of the Bloody Chain gang, they'll strike it off and consider it a part of the investigation. 2004年6月29日In a dank, dark cave on an unknown planet, there lies a Reactor Might. Even on his Dark Million space station, Black Shadow can sense its power and the energy crackles through him - and Zoda as well, albeit a lot more painfully. The emperor of darkness proclaims it is time Blood Falcon got his own Reactor Might, and he commands Miss Killer to track it down. Jody Summer and Dr. Stewart are hard at work taking another crack at finding out where brother Andy Summer's body disappeared since she discovered that a few episodes ago. The Galaxy Police's database has no info on it, giving them nothing to go on. The two are summoned to director Tanaka's office, but before they go, the doctor mentions to Jody that he's optimistic about their search. He's thought of a unique way to find answers. At the Falcon House, Clank is surprised by what he's found: someone called Dr. Mask is offering a fat reward for anyone who knows anything about what happened to Andy Summer! Clank cottons on immediately; Stewart needs to work on his disguises. Tanaka gives the two Platoon members some bad news: the higher-ups want them to cease from investigating Andy Summer, and won't say why. The doctor and Jody mull this over - if her brother were dead, they would hardly keep it a secret, so there must be more to it. Clank rushes in with even more bad news; Stewart's enquiry for info has gotten so many responses the Platoon's database is at risk of crashing. The three look at the answers, but the sheer number of responses is boggling, and most of them are thinly veiled attempts to snag the reward. Jody is amused at Stewart's idea, but warns him he could get in trouble for this. After all, if something happens to her, he's the only one who could lead the Platoon. In her off-time, Jody visits the spot where Andy gave his life to protect her, and places a bouquet of red salvias upon the ground: her brother's favourite. That night, Burt and Clank are walking home when they spot the flowers, curious why they're there. Burt scowls suspiciously. Miss Killer has pinpointed the Reactor Might's location, and Blood Falcon is set out to find it; Zoda is ordered to assist him, but he declines, wanting nothing to do with that clone. Black Shadow believes Zoda isn't willing to sacrifice a Reactor Might to another person. Jody catches a cup of coffee on the street, but thoughts of her brother still swim through her mind. She sees someone she almost believes to be Andy, but alas, it is not. Clank is out shopping and approaches her, surprised to see Jody having some off-time, and offers to take her to the Falcon House; after all, she's never been there! Clank shows her the entrance while he puts his groceries away, and Jody examines the café. It appears pleasant enough, red flowers adorning every table, but she gasps upon seeing the owner's face. He can't be...?! Jody asks if he is Andy Summer, but he shakes his head; he's Burt Lemming. Clank enters and introduces him to Jody, his boss, and treats her to a coffee on the house. The coffee blows her away - this is delicious, exactly the kind she likes! Clank owes it to Burt's customer-tailoring coffee making, but Jody remarks it's exactly like her brother used to make it. She gets up to leave, thanking Burt for the coffee and him thanking her for looking after Clank. She visits the graveyard to reflect on all the familiar sensations the Falcon House brought back to her, when a surprise visitor appears behind her: Captain Falcon! "Forget about Andy Summer. The enemy is stronger than you can imagine." Jody demands he explain himself, to at least answer if her brother is alive or dead, but the Captain disappears as suddenly as he came, zooming off in his Blue Falcon. She solemnly returns to her White Cat...only to find a bouquet of red salvias sitting on its hood. All across Mute City, viewscreens and information boards are replaced with a cackling callout from Blood Falcon, demanding a duel with Captain Falcon and Rick Wheeler. If they don't answer his challenge, he'll cause mayhem throughout the city! The Platoon have no choice but to respond, and eye out where the challenge will be held: Planet Tank, an icy wasteland that once held F-Zero races, but declining tourism has left it to wreck and ruin. The group fly out in the Galaxy Runner and make their way through the warp gate. Meanwhile, Blood Falcon has laid claim to the Reactor Might and catches up with Black Shadow, who plunges it into the heart of his machine to grant it untold power. He leaves the clone to his upcoming duel, eager for him to return with the Reactor Mights from their rivals' machines. The Dragon Bird and Blue Falcon arrive and the three machines zoom off, the Blood Hawk clashing violently with the two of them, leading them into a perilous cave. The Platoon watch the events from the ship; this isn't a race, this is a deathtrap! They head out in their own machines to try and track them down. The Reactor Might in Blood Falcon's machine begins to emanate energy, Rick and Falcon's as well, causing the pool in the center of the cave to create a wall of water. This gives them a convenient arena to battle in, and three machines initiate their Spin Boosters, heading right for each other... The machines clang right off each other, but that doesn't stop them from trying again and again, each clash generating more and more energy. This eventually generates a vortex above the pool that begins to suck the three of them towards it. The Blood Hawk and Dragon Bird are dangerously close to being pulled in, even while outputting at maximum power...but Captain Falcon puts his machine behind Rick's, giving it that extra push to keep it from falling in. With a little extra accelerator power, Rick is pushed back above the lip of the pool, bringing him to safety...but there's no saving either of the Falcons. The two machines clash one final time before the two of them are pulled into the void. Rick and Jody can only watch on in anquish, screaming the Captain's name as the vortex disappears in a flash of light, leaving the water to fall in on itself once more. The next day at the Falcon House, Clank is left to man the fort while Burt is said to be out travelling. Rick enters to find Jody making her second visit, and asks her about the last mission; did she just refer to Captain Falcon as "brother"? With Clank listening they drop the subject, and he offers Jody her coffee. It's...not quite up to standard, but it's certainly unique. 2004年7月6日Black Shadow summons Miss Killer to his throne room to show her something neat. He points to a containment pod and its shatters, spilling silver goop all over the floor. No, that's not the good part. The goop, seemingly sentient, bunches up again and builds itself into a malleable form before solidifying, creating a human shape. Remember Blood Falcon? He's back! In liquid form! With another gesture, Blood Falcon shrinks and reforms into a long bullet which Miss Killer is ordered to use to kill the leader of the Galaxy Mobile Platoon. Tanaka and the chief are watching the Platoon take part in a wet and windy F-Zero race, battling through even the hardest of weather as they start the final lap. The chief praises him on his work; Tanaka has clearly been essential in training the elite group. Miss Killer runs alongside the Dragon Bird and gives Rick a threatening glance...but even after all this time, he can still only see his dear old girlfriend in that villainess's face. Distracted, he slows down and is overtaken, forcing Jody to shout at him and snap him out of his daze. He initiates his Spin Booster to make up for lost ground, hoping to knock out the Moon Shadow...but she dodges at the last second, leading him into the Astro Robin instead! Both machines tumble and crash spectacularly, and despite Jody's best efforts, Miss Killer claims victory. Clash can barely believe it; of all the days the chief has to visit, this is the one. John Tanaka is distraught at this outcome, and pleads to the chief that is is a rare occurrence - it must've been the rain! The chief, however, expresses no disappointment and makes his leave, though Tanaka hounds him all the way to his car, offering all sorts of favors to get a good response out of him. He slips on a puddle and knocks the chief to the ground... Now that got a reaction. Jody and Dr. Stewart run to their aid, but the chief's ride escorts him away with a frown on his face. Tanaka is mighty concerned about this incident being the end of his career, though Jody offers to apologise to the chief tomorrow; John urges her to say it wasn't his fault. I mean, it was her fault for losing the race in the first place! The doctor sighs. The blame game continues back at Platoon headquarters, with Jack claiming Rick making goo-goo eyes at the enemy was what made him fall behind. The others leap to his defense but no matter what caused it, they're in a bad state - their reputation has been sullied, the chief has been humiliated, and Dark Million has got the prize money! Clank runs off to see how Jody and Stewart are getting on in the chief's office, and peeks through the open door. The chief reiterates that he holds no ill will for the Platoon; their track record is more than enough to earn his respect. However, from the city below comes a suspicious glare... A sniper taking aim! Pico fires into the chief's office and everyone dives for cover... but no one's been hurt, thankfully. Only the bust of the chief took a bullet to the bonce, Clank notices. Jody and the doctor set out to try and find the attacker and take Clank with them, but he ponders to himself: why would a sniper aim at a statue? The chief continues his work unfazed, as a silver ooze pours out of the statue's shothole and a doppelganger of himself forms before his eyes! Clank catches sight of this but is too terrified to act, and makes a run for it. He tells of his sighting to Rick, but he thinks Clank's just looking for attention until the boy mentions the earlier sniper attack. The two find Jody and Stewart returning from their search with no success, and Clank follows after them eager to convince them, but nobody's listening. As Rick drives home that night, he finds police cars outside his apartment building and cops digging through his possessions. The moment he enters the door he's put under arrest, but gets no answer when he asks what his crime is. Jody is furious about this and takes the case to the chief. He claims the Platoon is housing a rat who's been leaking info to Dark Million, and Rick is the number one suspect. The evidence? A diary and a photo of him and a woman - clearly Miss Killer! Jody tries to argue that point, but has an accusation shot her way as well: they employed a child as their data analyst?! With people like these, it's no wonder data has been leaked to the enemy. The chief may have plans to scrap the Galaxy Mobile Platoon and fire the lot of them! The Platoon are in uproar over this news, but orders are orders. Jack's had enough of all this and takes to the streets, running his Astro Robin wild and causing destruction and mayhem! Even an otherwise mundane machine test with Clash and Lucy turns vicious when the Elegance Liberty rams the Crazy Bear into the garage, causing a flaming wreck. Dr. Stewart and Jody mull over the recent commands from the chief, remarking it all seems very out-of-character for him. They theorise that he could have been replaced or brainwashed, but whatever the case, someone clearly has it out for the Platoon. EAD comes rushing to them with the bad news: Clash has been hurt bad! The mechanic mumbles that the 'real' Lucy wasn't the one who caused it, before the doctor takes him to medbay. Lucy enters and is oblivious of the whole event; there's no way she could have done that, she was at the Falcon House when it happened! The group find Tanaka having another nervous breakdown... Jack's rampage through the city has caused untold amounts of property damage, and the chief may have to fire him and Lucy! The Platoon argue there's no way Jack could have done such a thing, and Clank blames it on the 'fake', though the others shoot down his argument. That night, the boy visits the chief's office to prove his point once and for all. While in the middle of examining the statue's entry hole, the lights flash on and the chief enters, telling him he has no business being here. Clank runs past him to the door but a hand grabs his collar...from too far away to be possible. The chief isn't just a doppelganger...it's a monster!! Jody and the doctor are summoned to the office and told of Clank's unauthorized snooping. Jody is willing to give his doppelganger idea some credit, but the chief is having none of it - the Galactic Federation have approved for the Galaxy Mobile Platoon to be disbanded! Its members have only been getting up to more and more mischief, and it's risking too many lives at this point. A siren blares, alerting them of a Dark Million attack at the electric plant...but the chief reminds them there's no point in going. This is no longer their duty. Meanwhile, Lucy and EAD find Jack in the hangar, asking if anyone else has used his machine: there's a strange silver residue on the controls. The same gunk is in Lucy's cockpit as well! In his holding cell, Rick suddenly finds a surprise visitor waiting outside for him: it's Clank! He deactivates the lasers and sets him free, filling him in on the shocking news, but two security guards try to stop them. Jody karate chops them both, but then the chief comes to impede their escape... and it's clearly not the chief they know. Jody delivers another chop to his shoulder, but her hand phases right through his body, reforming the moment she takes her hand from it. He then takes the form of Captain Falcon and boots Jody to the ground, but a blast to the forehead reveals who he really is... Blood Falcon! Some furious laser blasting reduces him to a pile of mulch, giving the three a chance to escape and get to the power plant... oblivious that the slime is rebuilding itself... A massive fleet of battle stations hover over the power plant, spraying laser fire upon it as Dark Million's racers destroy the towers by driving straight through them. Jack, Lucy and EAD arrive on the scene, but are put out of commission by a group of Death Soldiers. The Galaxy Runner flies overhead, shooting down as many battle stations as it can to give the Dragon Bird a chance to disembark. What he doesn't know is a little bit of silver slime has found its way onto his roof... Rick's machine is powerful enough to send the Dark Million racers flying, but the ooze slithers its way to the front and reforms into Blood Falcon...now boasting a pair of lances for arms! He lets loose into the front of the machine, gradually cracking his windscreen and hoping to get inside! Conveniently enough, the Dragon Bird's Reactor Might begins to light up, and Rick is reminded of its intense power. He drives full pelt towards a flaming building, assured of his own safety, and summons the full power of his Boost Fire! Blood Falcon screams in agony...and his liquid metal form is reduced to nothingness. His allies are glad that's taken care of, and more importantly that Rick didn't kill himself. They regroup at Platoon HQ after a job well done, but there's still one question... where's the chief? Jody blasts open the statue in his office, and they find the chief bound and gagged inside its podium. Rick and Jody look out at the evening sky, both thinking the same thing: if Blood Falcon escaped the void, then there's a chance Captain Falcon did the same, right? The rest of the gang crowd in with great news - not only has the Platoon been re-established, but they've been given promotions! Jody is most pleased with this outcome, but after what they've been through today, their battles will only get harder from here on out. They hit the showers back on the Galaxy Runner as he tells him his own plights of fame; sure, being a superstar can be troublesome, but he never tires of the excitement. What has he got to be grouching about anyway? Oh, only the second revival of his archnemesis; the looming threat of a greater evil; his hero being sucked into a vortex of death; and an ongoing enigma surrounding the loss, the whereabouts and the true identity of his girlfriend... Well, pouting ain't gonna solve it! Rick thanks his friend for his emotional support and steps into the hallway, gazing out the window and finding himself awestruck by the sights outside: Billions upon billions of stars, each farther away than he can possibly imagine. A titanic warp gate, towering even in space, allowing vessels to transport to just about anywhere in the galaxy in a matter of seconds - a feat once thought impossible now used everyday on an ordinary commute. And the Earth! In his day, only a handful from a population of billions would ever see the Earth from space, and now everyone has that luxury. Jack instantly blowdries his hair with a helmet-shaped like an elephant, and Rick is just as entranced - he never had that in the year 2051! He tests it out excitedly and just has to try it out on Clank as well, who does not approve. EAD brings the two their coffee, with milk and sugar for Rick. Jack scoffs at the notion of putting those in coffee. Rick also finally realizes what a thrill it is to have a robot as a workmate, and asks him all sorts of questions: can he fly? What do his insides look like? EAD says it's a secret. Jack finally recognizes Rick's sense of whimsy, and the moment the Galaxy Runner docks, he'll show him all the sweet stuff the year 2202 has to offer! Jody isn't so sure, but Dr. Stewart tells her to lighten up - they could do with a breather once in a while. Back on Earth, Rick and Jack hit the high street and visit every shop they can. They try on futuristic fashion, ogle incomprehensible contraptions, try out some exotic fruit, and even fawn over some alien pets. This is such a change of pace; in his own time, all Rick did in his free time was do the laundry and eat ready meals. Another curiosity catches his eye: a bicycle dispenser! You mean these old things are still around? That won't be enough to carry all their shopping, so Jack summons a floating robot that carries their groceries straight home for them, allowing them to continue shopping unhindered. What a convenience! And the aliens! Streets full of creatures from other planets and machines made to serve man! What a world! What an age! Clank catches up with the two, having also been given some off-time, just in time for Rick to make the outrageous suggestion that F-Zero machines aren't that different from common cars. Clank goes full beardo and goes "um, actually," F-Zero machines hover slightly above the ground thanks to their Gravity Drives; they determine where the center of the planet is and make calculations so they can move smoothly across any terrain, no matter how rough. God, talk about fake F-Zero pilots. Rick probably doesn't even know what spaceflying is. Freakin' pleb. The group find themselves surrounded by fans, so they decide to retreat back to the Falcon House and order some brewskis. Clank brings up the subject of music, and Jack immediately finds a music video he wants to show to them, wiring it to the café's television. Clank recoils at the sight of it. It's a trifle flamboyant. Jack explains this was from his stint in a boy band, before he was a hooligan and before Jody invited him to the Platoon. Of all the people to ask, Clank grumbles. Rick is absolutely mesmerised by the video, and gets uppity when anyone blocks his view. "So handsome." The two get their coffees and Jack gets on Rick's case again for the sugar and milk fiasco. What is he, twelve?! Rick tries desperately to make him try it, but Levin resists so hard the sugar flies over Rick's face. Why doesn't he behave like a man and take his coffee black?! The two set to bickering over which of them is more mature, before being reduced to calling each other fatties. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Runner ejects its F-Zero machines and lands, its components splitting apart and re-combining in new configurations...before the machines enter the separate components as they combine to the main hull, interlocking and unfolding in weird and wonderful ways...until the machine has finally completed its transformation! No longer the Galaxy Runner, this is an F-Zero gestalt mecha!! Clash and Lucy show their design to Jody with great gusto...but unfortunately, this robot is far beyond what the Platoon could possibly afford, not to mention its very existence probably breaks a number of laws. Clank rushes in to request Jody's assistance; Rick and Jack are still getting at each other like a couple of five-year-olds. So much for a vacation! The two don't even want a holiday anymore if they have to stand the sight of each other. Even the sight of the F-Zero gestalt gets Rick hot and bothered - "Why does Jack get the head?!" Whoever has the most victories deserves that position! The two fume at each other some more. High above Mute City, the F-Zero stadium descends and unfolds into its traditional ship, setting up position for its latest race on the Multiplex course. Bio Rex and Octoman are using their day off to perform some time trials, and having a relaxing time of it. Unfortunately for them, the Dragon Bird and Astro Robin came rumbling onto the course, blasting the two out of their lounge chairs...and off the leaderboards! Word of Jack and Rick's feud has spread fast, and even Jack's girl fans have expressed concern; should the Galaxy Mobile Platoon break up their fight? Lucy assures Clank that the two are always scrapping, this is hardly anything new...though the fact they refuse to even look at each other before the race tells a lot. The grand prix begins and Jack is the first out of the starting grid, though Rick is gonna fight him for first place. The two battle their way through the right-angle turns...but Rick gains a lead with a boost pad, helping him soar over the high jump. Jack isn't going to give up...and neither are Bio Rex and Octoman, who are slowly catching up! A surprise attack from the Astro Robin sends the Dragon Bird into the slow-down zone, making his machine grind and wobble as he's overtaken by the rest of the pack. The baddies can't believe their luck; if only those two fought each other in every race! Rick recovers with a boost, taking him ahead of his opponents and allowing him to snag a jump pad, sending him flying over Jack's machine and into the lead! The two run parallel again before Rick slams Jack back just to make it equal. Reluctant to leave it there, the two machines keep up banging and thrashing each other, neither one willing to give up...not even as they run the right-angle corners again! Mr. Zero can't get enough of these hot-blooded antics, and Octoman and Bio Rex find their chance to slip by the warring duo with ease. Clank turns to the others for support; it really doesn't look like their participants are going to win this race. The battle gets even more violent when the Dragon Bird slams the Astro Robin into a minefield, damaging his machine and slowing him down. Only now does the announcer point out that today's winner will receive an extra-special reward, so Jack slams Rick into another minefield as payback; he's not letting him claim that prize! Rick sets his boost to maximum, but Jack is waiting for him with a spin attack...only for both machines to get wrecked, land in a minefield and get blown right off the course. The Dark Million lackeys yuk it up as they land another easy victory, but there's one machine they hadn't been paying attention to...the Great Star! EAD boosts between the two of them, knocking off-balance...allowing two other racers to knock into them and send them flying off the course. EAD takes first place! Meanwhile, Jack and Rick are still bickering even while suspended in the safety nets. Released from their machines and pouting on the sidewalk, the two finally realize they'd forgotten what they were warring over in the first place, and begin laughing together. Jody calls them up to shout at them for their behavior, but Jack shoots her down - EAD won, so their mission was a success. Hey, they said they didn't want a vacation, but can they have one now? After all, this might be their last holiday in a long time, so they might as well have fun. Black Shadow is disappointed his last attempt to defeat the Galaxy Mobile Platoon went poorly, and has only strengthened their resolve. With Blood Falcon gone, Miss Killer and Zoda are expected to double their work ethic. Zoda retires to his room to grumble about what a big meanie his boss is...only for his Reactor Might to glow, reminding him of his one-time team-up with Rick Wheeler, and also of Haruka having gone so far to hunt him down. Those two might be just what he needs to defeat Black Shadow. On the highway, Rick is suddenly overtaken out of nowhere by the Death Anchor! He leads him on a merry chase through the traffic, something Jack spots from a road overhead. Rick is eventually led to the lakeside park where he finds Zoda leisurely relaxing on a bench. He raises his pistol, but the criminal tells him to chill, he's not here to fight. He's here to talk Reactor Mights. Only a few people have the strength to utilize them, y'know, and when multiple Reactor Mights are in close proximity, their energy output increases dramatically. Fire Field's Planet Zoda stands and advances slowly towards Rick, his Reactor Might radiating waves of energy towards him, leaving him weak and feeble. He collapses back into his vehicle before Zoda lifts him by the head, gloating over his power. Enquiring about his girlfriend and his uncanny resemblance to Zoda's coworker, he presses their foreheads together and lets the Reactor Might do its work... Rick receives a vision of Zoda's fateful bank raid 150 years ago...and Haruka was there. The vision leaves Rick drained, but before Zoda can truly spell out the connection to him, Jack arrives to save Rick's skin, sending Zoda on his way. The two rush back to Platoon HQ and Rick just has to know - was Haruka there the day Zoda got put in cold sleep? He's babbling too much for anyone to give an answer, and when he dares to suggest Haruka is actually Miss Killer, Jack calms him down. That broad has tried to axe him several times by now. That is totally not what his girlfriend would be doing. Rick takes a load off at the Falcon House, and Clank mentions Burt hasn't returned yet - that must be one long vacation. He can tell Rick would love to speak to him; the two had a knack for solving each others' problems. The Fire Field Grand Prix is mere minutes from starting, and it's a spectacularly dangerous course - a perilous track covered with minefields and suspended above a sea of molten lava. The Platoon brace themselves for a risky race, and Miss Killer flashes Rick a mean look, but it only makes him angry and confused...who was Haruka? His smiling girlfriend, or a part of Zoda's criminal troupe? Zoda prides himself on his trickery. The race is seconds away, only for an ominous cackle to boom over the racers. The Black Bull joins the starting grid! Black Shadow loves a course that risks life and limb. The race begins, and everyone floods onto the track - Zoda is thrilled that his boss has come to take part. The Black Bull pushes machines aside like they were paper dolls, challenging anyone to take him on. Rick rises to the challenge, but the Moon Shadow is there to prevent him from inconveniencing her master. The two are locked in bitter combat, but a moment of weakness for his dear Haruka leaves Rick open, getting himself knocked to the edge of the track. Miss Killer prepares to ram him into the lava below...but the Astro Robin steps in to block her, before the White Cat takes over to fight the Moon Shadow, covering for him while Rick catches up to Black Shadow. Jack tells him there's no way that murderous missus could be his girlfriend, and he's got to put it behind him. The three leading machines enter the minefield, and the Black Bull is so fast he can outrun the detonating mines, making life tricky for the two. Jody is suddenly clobbered by the Death Anchor, allowing Miss Killer to continue without harassment, though she doesn't thank him for it. She proceeds to knock the Astro Robin out of commission and is itching for a scrap with Rick, but Zoda takes up that offer and allows her to carry on. He prevents Rick from catching up to her and tells him a little more about his showdown with Haruka a century ago, how she reminds him so much of Miss Killer. She made a statement that Zoda can't help but laugh at: "Zoda, I'm going to avenge Rick!" He is almost paralyzed by shock...but quickly boils up into anger, as he boosts ahead to catch up; just what Zoda wants. Black Bull is in the far lead and grows bored of his curb stomp victory, but before he can retire from the race, the Dragon Bird and Death Anchor are making a speedy return. Zoda's Reactor Might fills Rick's head with more messages: doesn't he want to save his brainwashed girlfriend from Black Shadow? Doesn't he want to kill Black Shadow?! Zoda claims the only way he can do that is for them to team-up, though Rick tries to fight his manipulation. The two machines Spin Booster their way towards Black Shadow's machine, their Reactor Mights emanating waves of uncontrolled power...so much so that the lava below rumbles and thrashes, splashing onto the track. The Black Bull spins out and vanishes behind a wall of steam, but before Miss Killer can seek him out, she too is subject to Zoda's mental messages: this time of Rick Wheeler reaching out to her lovingly. The Reactor Mights' energy settles, and all three machines find themselves parked before a plume of smoke. Could Black Shadow be toast...? Nope! He roars out of the smoke and rams the Death Anchor right into the lava. He panics and screams, fearing no one will be there to save him...but his Reactor Might has already saved him, as its power soon envelopes his machine. The surviving pilots disembark their machines and Miss Killer rushes passed, ignoring Rick to come to Black Shadow's side. The Platoon arrive and he can scarcely believe she still doesn't feel anything for him, when the track quakes beneath them...and the Death Anchor roars out of the lava, now the head of a massive molten serpent! Black Shadow ducks back into his machine just before the beast takes a hold of it, crushing the machine in a single snap. Miss Killer screams her master's name, but nothing remains of him...only the Death Anchor, as the beast dissipates and the machine lands back on the track. Zoda takes a bow and thanks Rick for his most helpful support - he's next on the hit list - before zooming off. He may have killed the boss, but Zoda returns to the Dark Million base to find someone else has claimed the throne. Miss Killer has taken the position just to keep Zoda out of power, and he stomps away in disgust, but not before his Reactor Might leaves her with another image of Rick Wheeler lingering in her head... The cloaked competitor snags first place with ease, and despite his friend's loss, Clank can't help but be thrilled by this outcome. Clank eagerly awaits Rick's visit to the Falcon House that night to show him his research: comparing today's race and archive footage of Captain Falcon, he and Berserker share remarkably similar cornering and boosting techniques. They must be the same person! Despite the boy's joy, Rick just can't believe it; Falcon was sucked into a vortex, for god's sake. You don't just walk out of that. He keeps that a secret, but Clank gets tetchy over how doubtful he is; he should've been the first person to notice the similarity! Rick gets up in his case about why he thinks so strongly about this. The boy, close to tears, finally admits why: his boss, Burt, is actually Captain Falcon! To prove it, he reluctantly breaks his promise to Burt and leads him to the hidden garage. Jody Summer just so happens to stroll in to assure Clank he was strong-willing to have kept this a secret for so long. And, hey, while they're all here, they might as well spell it all out: Andy Summer is Burt Lemming, Burt Lemming is Captain Falcon, and Captain Falcon is Berserker! Planet Cryton On the Galaxy Runner the Platoon are told of their upcoming race on planet Cryton; Rick's been there before, but it's the first time for everyone else, and its reputation turns them off. The group were personally invited by the mysterious millionaire, Don Genie, who's rumoured to have made his fortune in shady arms dealing. Jack and Lucy politely decline the race, but upon hearing Berserker will be attending, Clank urges Rick to join up. The race is going in Rick's favor for quite some time, leading the pack until the last lap when the Red Bull makes its entrance, rising quickly to first place...and snatching victory from under him. The Platoon are blown away, but this only proves it to Clank; that's gotta be Captain Falcon, no ifs or buts about it. After the race Don Genie congratulates Berserker personally in the garage, and Octoman and Bio Rex appear to send him Zoda's regards. The Platoon watch them, Dr. Stewart explaining that Don Genie is one of the sponsors of F-Zero racing, and he must be eyeing up good racers to headhunt. The businessman introduces himself to the group and compliments Rick Wheeler for being such a legendary racer; if Berserker wasn't such a successful addition to his stable, he might have been offered a nifty contract. As he leaves, he mentions he owns a palace not far from the race track and offers to invite them for a visit sometime. Rick stops Clank from chasing after them to ask Berserker to confirm his identity, reminding the kid there's no possible way Burt could have survived the vortex. The man's dead, son. Clank is reduced to tears and calls him a liar before stomping off. While Don Genie disembarks, where Clank sneaks about one of his armored transports unnoticed. The Platoon try to find him with no success, and have no idea where he could possibly be until Rick takes into account the boy's one-track mind. He's probably in Don Genie's palace. Rick hits up the bar to seek the advice of Samurai Goroh: how does one break into Don Genie's palace? The pirate tells him to not believe what the Don says it is - the place is an armored fortess. Nothing goes in, nothing comes out! The only way he can gain entrance is to attend...the Death Race. The Platoon are briefed on this plan; the Death Race is the only way outsiders are granted passage into Genie's palace, but Jody isn't keen on the dangers involved. As far as Rick's concern there's no other choice, and he proceeds to the palace regardless... In the palace's hangar, Clank makes his way to Berserker's Red Bull, desperate to find a connection between the enigmatic racer and the noble Captain. He hears Don Genie's voice from behind a door and listens in: he's got a fat stack of weapons to sell to Dark Million, and to thank them for being such excellent customers, he will lend them Berserker to race for their cause. Clank feels the barrel of a gun pressed to his head...and the guard leads him to the Don. He states if you're not buying guns then you've no business being here, and the guard prepares to execute the boy. Clank knocks the robot to the ground and tugs Berserker's cloak, expecting a heroic turnaround. Don Genie remarks he liked the racer so much he hired him without researching his background, and this will be an excellent test to prove his loyalty. Berserker shoves the boy to the ground and is about to stomp him, when Genie suddenly remembers where he's seen Clank before - he's from the Galaxy Mobile Platoon! Well, won't he be an excellent hostage; with him, he can force the Platoon to join the Death Race! Nobody has ever defeated Berserker! Clank laughs. There's no way the Platoon would join his Death Race. The Don is alerted to another intruder on the grounds, and he would like to join the Death Race. Gosh, that was fast! He remarks that Rick's arrival will make for a good race, sure to please the watching Deathborn. Clank thumps the robot again and makes a second getaway. The unruly masses of Cryton bet on who will survive the Death Race; Bio Rex, Octoman, or Rick? Just when he thinks it can't get any worse, yet another machine arrives on the starting line: Jody's here as well! She just couldn't bear to leave Clank behind...and speak of the devil, there he is running onto the track, followed by robots! The White Cat crushes the pursuers and the boy hops into the Dragon Bird. Well, they've come what they came for, but the Red Bull blocks their exit before Berserker plucks Clank from the cockpit. It's a rare opportunity for the Don to have such notable racers, they can't back out now! Clank tries to talk sense into his captive, but Berserker does not reply; Rick thinks he's a fool for trying. The Death Race finally begins with Rick and Jody in the far lead, only for the Deep Claw and Big Fang to ram them from behind. Those two grunts have suffered long enough; today will be the day they get their revenge! Jody and Rick side-step to avoid another attack, getting behind their assailants and ramming them with the full force of their boosts. Octoman and Bio Rex's machines tumble and explode, sending them flying and leaving the two Platoon members to race with ease...until the Red Bull makes a reappearance, pushing the White Cat off the track and gesturing as he passes by. That's the same gesture Captain Falcon used to make! Clank watches the race from captivity as Berserker duels with Rick. A chunk of the wall is sliced apart and the Fire Stingray rumbles in, crushing his guards. Samurai Goroh to the rescue! He singlehandedly slices apart the remaining Death Soldiers and scares off whatever new ones try to stop him. The White Cat rolls in and Clank apologizes to Jody; he's only led them all on a pointless endeavor. Goroh's gang destroy the munitions warehouse, causing the entire palace to begin crumbling and exploding. Don Genie deems it wise to bail, just as Rick and Berserker finish their race, with Berserker the victor. The Red Bull leads the Dragon Bird down a path to catch up with Jody and Goroh, making that familiar gesture again before disappearing. Rick thanks Goroh for his assistance, though the samurai tells him he isn't doing this for charity; there was some sweet loot he wanted to gank as well. The three machines escape the fortress before it crumbles, returning to their respective spaceships. On the Galaxy Runner, Clank apologizes once more for having been so foolish, but the two simply tell him not to run off like that again. He places his hand upon her chamber door as energy from his Reactor Might floods into her mind... allowing her to finally remember that fateful confrontation with Zoda, one hundred and fifty years ago. At Platoon HQ, Jody informs the crew just because Black Shadow snuffed it doesn't mean Dark Million are giving up. They're going to carry on as usual, perhaps even more unpredictable than before due to power struggles. Before she leaves, she has one more announcement to make: Rick will not be participating in the next race. The crew are shocked, Rick especially, though Dr. Stewart claims she's just looking out for his wellbeing. Screw wellbeing, Rick wants answers! He catches up to Jody in the hallway and she explains that his troublesome relationship with Miss Killer is endangering the group. Rick's gungho to race knowing she'll be taking part, but Jody challenges him: if she ordered him to fight her, what would he do? If Miss Killer really was Haruka Misaki, what would he do? With some reluctance, Rick finally answers he would treat her as an enemy. That's what she wants to hear. Zoda raises an assembly of Dark Million's ranks, claiming a spy among them was responsible for Black Shadow's untimely death. And that spy is Miss Killer--or should he say, Haruka Misaki! She calls out his lies, stating he's been serving Black Shadow since the day she was born, though the crowd aren't willing to trust her. He mentions she even vowed to avenge Rick when the two first met, suggesting the two may be cooperating behind the scenes. If that's how he's playing, there's only one way Miss Killer can prove her loyalty: to kill Rick Wheeler! Zoda believes she won't have the guts for it. As the racers line up for the next event, Rick and Miss Killer stare each other down; Jody orders the Platoon to watch over those two. The race starts and the two exit the starting grid side-by-side; Rick wishes to reason with her, but the murderous mistress starts banging his machine. The chance for diplomacy has failed. Zoda teases her as he watches from his space station; she's gotta try harder than that to impress him! The Dark Million lackeys keep an eye on Miss Killer while Jody gets between the Moon Shadow and Dragon Bird, only to have her thrusters bashed. Lucy and Jack arrive to bail their captain out, but Miss Killer and Rick are both sick of their intrusions: this is their fight! The two finally fly off the course and onto the plains below, Rick chasing Miss Killer across narrow mountain paths. Her machine finally comes to a stop at a small ledge, and Rick disembarks from his machine to see her face to face...only to find her cockpit is empty! Rick narrowly dodges an aerial attack from her and tries to get her to stand down, but she's in no mood to comply. It's his fault her reputation is ruined and everyone mistakes her for Haruka! He tries one last time to assure her of who she really is, but she viciously denies it and raises her knife to his neck. He breaks free of her hold just as a Dark Million battle station passes overhead. The Platoon finally catches up to Rick's position, but by the time they arrive both machines are gone, and they can do naught but watch as the battle station flies away. Aboard Dark Million's base of operations, Rick is brought before Zoda as a captive and comments, "You seem even crankier after killing Black Shadow." Miss Killer tries to use his word to prove Zoda is the real traitor, but the big lug presses his head against hers and tries to fill her head with old memories of Haruka again. Miss Killer appears unfazed, however, and begins laying into Rick with punches, kicks and stomps. All throughout the beating he tries to convince her of who she really is, but that only enrages her, beating him to such an extent that even Zoda is shocked. Beaten and bruised, Rick is taken to a holding cell while Zoda commends her violent ways...but she'll need more than that to prove she isn't Haruka Misaki. Miss Killer exits the throne room...and while she's alone in the hallway, a single tear rolls down her cheek. She enters her room and sobs - she knows who she really is now. She isn't Black Shadow's eternal servant. She is Haruka Misaki...and she loves Rick Wheeler. The Platoon are scouring deep space in the Galaxy Runner for any hint to Rick's whereabouts, but the trail only takes them so far. Jody fears she's responsible for this; if she had barred Rick from racing like she wanted then he would never have gotten captured. Clash and Stewart tell her not to blame herself; Rick would have bumbled into this scenario without anyone's help. He receives a visitor in his holding cell: Miss Killer. She comes to find a changed man in her presence; he no longer believes her to be his dear Haruka, and instead sees her as a monster. She's shocked by this, but quickly resumes her villainous persona to taunt him: he's willing to insult his captor when he's completely powerless? Zoda takes Rick to the hangar to grill him on the secrets of his Reactor Might, but he has nothing to tell him. Maybe a bit of clobbering will loosen his lips! Miss Killer listens to the beating for a while before leaving in tears, sobbing in the computer room. Knowing who she really is and remembering every attempt on Rick's life she's performed, she can barely come to terms with her actions. To account for her actions, she presses a key on the computer...and the Galaxy Runner can now get a trace on the Dragon Bird's whereabouts! The crew work their hardest to pin down the coordinates and jet off in that direction. He awakens to his cell door opening... and no one entering. His restraints are loosened as well! He rises and leaves, finding the hallway to be full of deactivated guards. The path to the hangar is completely clear, and his Dragon Bird is just itching to be driven away...but the moment he reaches it a spotlight shines down on him, illuminating a mob of Dark Million goons. Zoda is aware a traitor was responsible for his release, but that's no matter; it gives him free reign to blast Rick away. Miss Killer appears from the crowd not to own up to releasing him, but to have the privilege of shooting him herself. She raises the gun to his head, but her mind is clogged with visions from the last time she tried to shoot someone... The space station is rocked by a sudden explosion. The tremor causes Miss Killer to squeeze the trigger, blasting Rick off his feet and into his cockpit. She's shocked at what she's done, but Zoda and the others have other concerns: they're under attack from the Galaxy Runner! While they assemble their positions, Miss Killer checks on Rick. He slowly rises; injured, but not mortally wounded. She expresses concern for what she's done, but to Rick that only cements it: she is not the woman he loved. He starts up the Dragon Bird and escapes the hangar, flying into space. The Platoon come to pick him up, relieved he's safe and sound. Rick watches the space station makes it escape, kicking himself for having believed that temptress could ever be Haruka. The two villains return to the throne room, Zoda scolding Miss Killer on having bungled yet another attempt on Rick's life, but an unpleasant cackle drowns out their voices... Black Shadow lives! He yuks it up at Zoda's feeble attempts: so long as Black Shadow has his "glorious dream", Zoda will never have the power to topple him. The underling responds by unleashing the power of his Reactor Might...to no effect. "How pitiful." A single gesture from Black Shadow causes Zoda to erupt into flames, scorching him as he flees. Miss Killer bows to her master, glad to have him back, though he reminds her that anyone who betrays him will be punished without remorse...and she is no exception, should the event occur. That evening, Rick visits the lakeside park alone to find a familiar figure watching the ships pass by... It's Miss Killer. 2004年8月10日As Zoda made his approach on the East Bank, Haruka Misaki was waiting inside for her chance to strike. The moment his truck ploughed through the entrance, she stepped out and raised her gun at him, but instead found... "I was wrong. You're a devil. I will defeat you." Her clothes change to that of Miss Killer, and she screams. Awaking from her sleep pod panicking and sweaty, she stumbles out of it to question her own reflection. "Who...are you?" With Black Shadow reinstated as the leader of Dark Million, Zoda must warn him: Miss Killer was Rick's girlfriend 150 years ago, and her old memories have returned! Black Shadow laughs in response to his declaration - Miss Killer is Miss Killer. She was never another woman, nor have her memories ever been tampered with. He sees right through Zoda's attempted dissent and leaves; he's the one who should watch his back. Miss Killer makes her exit through the crowd, feeling every eye watching her as Zoda vows to knock her down a peg sooner or later. She makes her way to the hangar to find The Skull watching her; Zoda gave him orders to watch her every move. She boards the Moon Shadow and zooms passed him...and makes her way to Mute City's lakeside park, stopping at the railings to reflect on the turmoil she's inflicted on Rick against her will. That night, she sneaks into Rick's apartment to find he still has important possessions in his dresser...including the diary, an old photo, and the proposal ring he never got to give her. She tries it on, remembering how much she had wanted it all those years ago, and a tear rolls down her cheek. No time for romantics, however, as the lights turn on! She ducks behind a pillar as Rick, Lucy and Jack make their way inside, carrying a heap of groceries for Rick's first homemade meal in centuries. The group discuss the Miss Killer situation, relieved to know there's no way she could possibly be Haruka; Rick admits he was a fool to believe it. Miss Killer is shocked and drops the ring box, prompting Rick to investigate the noise...finding his dresser open, the diary sitting on its top and the ring box lying on the floor...empty! He tidies them away, keeping it quiet from the others as the Moon Shadow drives away outside. Zoda grumbles about his spat with Black Shadow earlier, believing the boss knows more than he's letting on. Bio Rex presents him an invitation from the F-Zero committee - a duel between him and Rick! After some consideration he accepts, hoping to use it as an opportunity to steal the Dragon Bird's Reactor Might. With two, he might have what it takes to defeat Black Shadow! The same invitation reaches the Platoon; the committee's representative is Deathborn, an ominous individual they know literally nothing about. The duel is taking place in Don Genie's palace, which the committee are said to have bought off him. The group agree that it's probably a trap, but Rick is up to the challenge: he wants to settle things with Zoda once and for all. The race attracts a huge crowd - the rivalry between Rick and Zoda is bound to be a big money maker for the F-Zero committee - as the two racers approach the starting line. Zoda chuckles; he can already feel the presence of Rick's Reactor Might. The two kick things off with a furious brawl. Even Miss Killer and Black Shadow watch the race from their throne room, and the mastermind reveals he was responisble for the invitation. This is just one step towards his "glorious dream," and he takes her to another room to explain. Inside a massive chamber lies a similarly large, glowing machine, a part of an experiment relating to the Reactor Mights. The race wages on as Rick boosts to evade Zoda, but his nemesis follows suit and continues to ram him. Black Shadow deems now a good time to start the experiment, and urges Miss Killer to set it into motion...but refuses to tell her what will happen. She hesitates, but her master forces her hand and reminds her who she is: this is Miss Killer, and that is her order. The machine sparks into life, cogs pumping and electricity fizzling between conduits...and the entire chamber begins rumbling. The racers' two Reactor Mights begin to glow, emanating waves of power visible even from outside their chassis. The Platoon are quick to notice and Clank runs a quick investigation - their Reactor Mights are overloading! Their machines won't be able to handle the pressure if it doesn't stop! Jody orders Rick to abandon the race, but his machine has a life of its own and refuses to brake, the two racers continuing down the track. Jody offers to chase him down herself, but no ordinary machine could ever keep up with the Reactor Might; all they can do now is warn the committee and begin evacuations. The hulls of the Dragon Bird and Death Anchor can barely contain the energy, and the palace begins to crumble from the intense energy, bursts of electricity shooting through the track walls. The very ground beneath them begins to tear apart...and Mr. Zero declares now a good time to cancel the race, encouraging folks to get out of there. Ships evacuate the palace in droves, but the radiant energy bursting from its walls even manages to knock a few out of the air. Miss Killer is shocked at the carnage, but Black Shadow couldn't be more chuffed; Zoda makes for a good guinea pig. Zoda channels his energy to burst right out of the palace, angry to have been used in such a way. Rick, meanwhile, is still trying to survive the crumbling race track and tame his wild machine, but he eventually finds itself plunging down into the darkness below... Fortunately, the Galaxy Runner is there just in time to grab him and pull him out, escaping as the Palace combusts in an explosion of energy behind them. Black Shadow watches the wreckage from afar, thrilled at the destructive power the Reactor Mights are truly capable of. Miss Killer feels immense shame having been a part of this...while Berserker watches the two from afar, hidden in the shadows. Rick is patched up aboard the spaceship as their monitors pick up the two villains near the wreckage. They realize he was responsible for this whole affair, and ponder if he has a relation to the F-Zero committee. Rick fears if Miss Killer really is Haruka, then they'll be using her to get under his skin; Jody comforts him by saying, "we can only try to conquer the painful memories." Returning to Mute City that night, Rick finds Miss Killer looking over the bridge. He steps out to ask her what she's up to, when she digs into her pocket and retrieves Haruka's ring. That clinches it! She must be Haruka! She denies the notion. Her name is Miss Killer. 2004年8月17日While ferrying through deep space, Roger Buster and Draq's transport ship comes under unprovoked attack from a Dark Million battle station. They begin transmitting a distress signal, but the assailant's tractor beam prevents them from escaping as the two are forcibly docked together. Zoda saws the door down and boots his way in, taking the two hostage to query them on a shipment they made to a base on Lightning some time ago: what was in the cargo? The deliverymen have little to say; the warehouse they delivered it to was empty, but they would never welch on their customers like that. Zoda snatches their delivery records and looks for himself... The contents appear mundane, but when used together they serve as ingredients to a biological weapon - just like the liquid-metal Blood Falcon! Zoda suspects Black Shadow is up to something nasty when Draq tells him he'll never get away with this - they have friends in the Galaxy Mobile Platoon! Roger told him to keep that hush-hush, but knowing that, Zoda finds he's made a better catch than he had suspected. The Platoon are investigating the distress signal in the Galaxy Runner, puzzled over why the signal cut off so abruptly earlier. They receive a transmission from Zoda, showing off his captives and offering an exchange: if they can investigate Black Shadow's base on Lightning, he'll release Roger and Draq. Jody is in no mood to be his gofer, but he tells them this isn't even a threatening request; it could be a great help to their investigation, actually. He signs off and the gang are quick to assume this is a trap - why would members of Dark Million be left in the dark on their own operations? Stewart believes Black Shadow must be trying to keep Zoda in the dark if he used a third party, Roger and Draq, to deliver goods for him. Roger and Draq are thrown in a cell and thanked for being such helpful pawns. Roger tries fighting back against Zoda, but he's far too strong for him and kicks him to the far wall, before locking them in. Miss Killer brings word of this to Black Shadow, who's merely amused by Zoda's snooping behind his back. She wishes to know what he's doing on Lightning, but he reminds her she is his servant, and to not ask questions above her station. She's eager to know what her master is hiding, and while Zoda's not about, she unlocks the prisoners' cell door... The Galaxy Runner arrives on Lightning; a hostile landscape plagued with hazardous lightning storms. "A truly irritating place," as Jack calls it, but perfect to hide a secret base; most of it is underground and no doubt highly guarded. As they draw closer, hidden hatches open up in the cliffsides and heat-seeking missles are fired their way! Four missiles? No problem for their shields. Several dozen missiles? Now that's another matter. The missiles alone drain most of their shield's power, only for waves upon waves of armored vehicles to come rolling their way, each and every one of them armed to the teeth and surrounding their ship! They receive another transmission from Zoda, thanking them for distracting the defense system while he can enter the base unnoticed. The turrets and trucks fire at the ship from every direction, and more and more come flooding out - there's no way they can keep up like this. Rick suggests their F-Zero machines might be fast enough to slip through, so he, Jack and Jody head out while Dr. Stewart mans the ship. The plan works a treat; their boosts allow them to pass or plough through the defenses with ease. Meanwhile, Zoda arrives at the base's entrance, curious what his master could be hiding inside, when it begins to open up...revealing the Black Bull! Black Shadow had been expecting this visit and chases after him...leaving the door unguarded for Miss Killer to slip in! The boost power begins to deplete in Jack and Jody's machines, though Rick is in no mood to give up. The two of them use the last of their energy to propel the Dragon Bird ahead using the Sandwich Burst, getting him out of harm's way. However, Rick finds himself staring down the barrel of a huge cannon pointed his way! Out of nowhere, Roger Buster appears to save his skin! He and Draq have no idea who could have freed them from their cell, but now that they're out, they're keen to assist him in any way they can. As they lead him to the base, Zoda is still being pursued by the Black Bull...only for the paths to cross, bringing all five machines to the same plane. Black Shadow lauds the arrival of Rick's Reactor Might to the mix, only for Zoda to boost ahead and send Roger's Mighty Hurricane spinning, forcing Rick and Black Shadow to evade it. Zoda slips inside the base and Rick tries to follow, but the Black Bull bars him from entering. The Mighty Hurricane dogpiles onto Black Shadow's machine, giving Rick enough time to enter while he deals with the enemy. Unfortunately, a single pulse of Black Shadow's Reactor Might sends Roger flying, and the big bad quickly catches up to Rick. The demon toys with his prey for a while, pressing his machine into the walls before suddenly driving on and leaving him be: he's not skilled enough to garner his interest. Inside, Miss Killer finds a research lab at the center of the base; evidently an attempt at harnessing the Reactor Might's power to create biotechnology. The video footage shows a familiar figure contained in a capsule...it's Zoda! He too enters and is shocked at the sight of this: what's his body doing in a biotechnology chamber?! Black Shadow arrives to scold his servant for going where she doesn't belong, and has big news to tell Zoda: this is where he was created. Created?! But Zoda was a gangster born and bred in the 21st century...right? Nope. Black Shadow reveals the real story: to defeat Rick, the greatest threat to his reign of evil, he created Zoda with the sole purpose of destroying him, and sent him back in time to the year 2051. Audience? Please DO NOT buy into THAT!!! Zoda shakes with rage at this revelation: his entire existence, the reason he was born, was for one stinking mission?! He tries to clock Black Shadow in the jaw, but gets punched to the ground himself; it wasn't until he received his Reactor Might that his master saw any use in him. They are all Black Shadow's pawns, and Rick's intervention has actually been worthwhile. Speaking of Rick, his Dragon Bird bursts into the chamber and he points to Black Shadow - it's time they ended this! The lord of evil summons his Black Bull and leaves, prompting Rick to follow; Miss Killer chases after them as well, leaving Zoda wounded on the ground. The two machines return to the base's hall and begin ramming each other, but the Black Bull is the stronger of them and presses Rick against the wall. The Dragon Bird has just enough power to pull itself away, though Black Shadow is in no mood to play fair. He snaps his fingers...and the entire base begins to explode. Miss Killer watches from outside, wishing for Rick's safe return. The Black Bull races ahead as armored doors close throughout the hall, the Dragon Bird managing just enough speed to slip through each of them. Despite the predicament, Rick tries once more to tackle the Black Bull, but another burst of its Reactor Might sends him tumbling back. The burning explosions mere inches from his machine, he initiates his boost and ploughs ahead, knocking the Black Bull aside...as he flies out of the entrace, flames following after as the entire base explodes. Out of the smoke flies the Black Bull, its pilot taunting him that he will return, as it boards a Dark Million battle station and flees. A fire burning in his heart, Rick vows to defeat Black Shadow one of these days...but Zoda claims he'll have that privilege instead. The very notion that someone could rule over him makes him sick; he'll destroy anyone who uses him like a tool and conquer the galaxy himself! Rick is shocked to hear of Zoda's creation, but makes a similar vow to prevent him from achieving his goal. "I'll be waiting," Zoda snickers and takes his leave. The Galaxy Runner docks nearby and all of Rick's friends come running out to welcome him back. 2004年8月24日In the Galaxy Mobile Platoon's hangar, Ryu gazes at his machine and wonders what secrets it contains. Remember when Captain Falcon said the Dragon Bird, Blue Falcon and Black Bull are "brothers from another time"? (Yes.) Jody wanders in and Ryu demands to know if there was a deeper meaning behind them reviving him in the year 2201. Dr. Stewart believes it is now time to tell Ryu... of the Legend of Falcon. Since the dawn of time good and evil have co-existed, forever battling - just like Captain Falcon and Black Shadow. However, the good Captain could not win the war all on his own...and one day, Dr. Stewart received a data chip from him containing a message. On it, Falcon explained that there are six Reactor Mights throughout the galaxy, and unless they want Black Shadow to claim them and rule over the universe, they need a savior with the power to control all six Reactor Mights. And wouldn't you know it, Rick Wheeler is that very savior! They followed the Captain's instructions and installed his Dragon Bird with a Reactor Might, but had yet to find a pilot capable enough to control it. Once Black Shadow revived Zoda, they believed he was concerned about safeguarding himself from this savior, so they dipped into Zoda's past and found Rick, an ace driver turned cop who was also awaiting revival. Of course, Jody wasn't so sure on him being savior material - remember all the times he was a hotheaded prick who chased after Zoda? (Yes.) And Stewart didn't believe Rick was the right pilot for the Dragon Bird until Captain Falcon demonstrated its true potential. Remember when Rick was taught the Spin Booster and used it to fix a warp gate, among other things? (Yes.) The Platoon had three Reactor Mights; one is in the Dragon Bird, but one got stolen by Zoda and the other's location is unknown, what with the Blue Falcon being sucked into a bloody great vortex. Remember when Captain Falcon got sucked into a bloody great vortex? (Yes.) They refuse to believe the Captain is dead, but for now the best use of their time is for Rick to begin training. If he's going to save the universe he's gotta be a mighty good racer. Meanwhile on planet Tank, Zoda is digging his way to the caves where the two Falcons vanished; maybe the Reactor Might is still there! Baba reports this to Black Shadow, and Miss Killer wonders what Zoda would want with another Reactor Might. The lord of evil reveals he owns three of them, and all of his plans have been mere exercises for Zoda to mature his Reactor Might's strength. Even the time he let Zoda nearly kill him? (Yes.) So if he has three and the Platoon have two, where's the sixth one? Blood Falcon tracked it down, but he vanished into the same vortex that took Captain Falcon. To confirm the Captain's death, he revived Blood Falcon as a liquid human. Remember that? (Yes.) The Captain has yet to return, but it's no issue: Black Shadow's dream is nearing completion. In the meantime they'll use the mysterious Berserker (remember him?) to win them prize money, and destroy the so-called savior Rick Wheeler when the time comes. Miss Killer leaves and recalls that Zoda was a bioweapon sent back in time to defeat Rick. That must mean Rick Wheeler is the so-called Man of Legend...but why was she revived in this time as well? Hearing of Zoda's activity on planet Tank, the Platoon depart in the Galaxy Runner to see what he's up to...they might find clues to Captain Falcon's disappearance as well! Instead they find Zoda in the caves, who challenges Rick to a race to the Reactor Might - whoever reaches it first can lay claim to it! Rick's game and the two zoom forward, Zoda blattering him with the Death Anchor. The two are equally matched, even when they push their Reactor Mights to the limit with their Spin Boosters. The radiant energy causes the entire cave to fall apart, energy bursting from beneath its cracks. The Platoon escape to the surface, but Rick is nowhere to be found... The Dragon Bird emerges from the smoke, but Zoda has escaped again. Rick finally comes to terms with his sense of duty, and knows he cannot rest until Black Shadow is finally defeated. 2004年8月31日In an unknown location, footage of F-Zero races are replayed again and again, focusing on two pilots in particular: Captain Falcon and Rick Wheeler. The screens illuminate the mysterious observer: Deathborn. Rick is given his wake-up call for his third consecutive day of training, and whizzes off in an instant. Since he heard he's the appointed savior of the galaxy he's been pushing his driving skills to the absolute limit, training harder and harder in his quest to slam evil. Jack and Lucy are worried about his health, but the group are summoned to the chief's office for even bigger news. The F-Zero committee has proposed a duel between Rick and Black Shadow! The group are quick to remind him how sketchy this is, but Rick believes it to be destiny; he's in no position to back away from it. Jack grabs him by the shoulders and calls him out on his attitude; he may be fighting for good and all, but a little self-care wouldn't hurt! Rick remains determined to defeat Black Shadow...but his fatigue is overpowering and he collapses in Jack's arms. He wakes up hours later in the hospital, and the moment he tries to rise Jack is there to shove him down. He's in no health to go traipsing about, and besides, the rest of the Platoon are working hard for his cause: the Dragon Bird is getting repairs, the race track is being scouted and Clank is digging up all he can find on Black Shadow. Rick is still eager to get up, but Jack puts a hand over his mouth. Just because he's the savior doesn't mean he can rise to the task in an instant; fighting Dark Million has been a group effort all this time, and until he's well enough he can count on the others to do the heavy lifting. Rick thanks him. Jack calls him an idiot. Meanwhile, Dr. Stewart and Jody are discussing what little info they've gathered...when they find Jack in the observation room. He lets them know of Rick's condition, and how the man has never been used to relying on the support of others...but how long can it last? The enemies and organizations they're up against are massive, their help would only hinder him but Rick couldn't take them on alone! Jody assures him that Rick will not be alone in his fight. Aboard Dark Million's headquarters, Miss Killer hears of Black Shadow's duel and ponders what he could be scheming. She tries to follow after him, but he declares he has no need for her today. The stadium is packed with excited fans awaiting the duel between the heavy hitters of F-Zero racing....including Don Genie, who remarks to Berserker that the race won't be the most exciting part of today's event. The Platoon are there to give Rick support, Jody even going so far as to say Captain Falcon will be rooting for him - and if he leaves Rick with all the responsibility, he's entitled to thump him. Rick remarks that'd be tough if the man's dead. The race begins, and all parties are watching with great interest - Don Genie, Berserker, Deathborn, Miss Killer... The Dragon Bird takes the lead, but the Black Bull batters him out of first place and takes it for himself. Rick returns the gesture, but the Black Bull is so tough that he injures himself more than his enemy; Clank informs him that he'll never make a dent in the machine's hull. The Dragon Bird catches a boost pad and overtakes him on the corner - all that armor means the Black Bull's cornering leaves much to be desired. Not that Black Shadow has any interest in outmatching his opponents - he prefers to annihilate them! He Spin Boosters towards Rick with his Black Fire technique, and Rick performs his own to stay ahead. The two machines are at equal speeds when their machines clash, causing a flash of blinding light - a burst of energy from the Reactor Might! Just when it looks like they've vanished, the two machines emerge from the light; Black Shadow's attack didn't work. The two have exhausted their Spin Boosters, but the Dragon Bird has the speed advantage; there's no way his foe could catch up at this rate! Only for the Black Bull to use its Spin Booster again. The Platoon are aghast - but that's impossible! A machine can only endure one Spin Booster per race! Black Shadow reveals his machine has two Reactor Mights installed in his Black Bull; one in each horn. He quickly catches up to the Dragon Bird and slams into it, throwing it right off the track. The Platoon mobilize in an attempt to rescue Rick as the chief exits his viewing chamber, only to find Don Genie, Berserker and a fleet of Dark Soldiers barring his exit. They claim the race isn't over, and the Platoon can only watch as the Black Bull produces a portal in the air, flying into it...and towing the Dragon Bird along with him! So that was his plan all along! Clank is quick to get a tracker on the Dragon Bird's position and Jody heads out to rescue him, but witnesses the chief being held hostage. Don Genie taunts her before departing, leaving Berserker to handle things from here. Once the Don is out of sight, the bodyguard lets go of the chief and disables all the robots in an instant. The two try to ask Berserker who he really is, but he too makes a hasty exit. Rick finds himself in a strange space station, ensnared in a glowing web when Black Shadow approaches...and Don Genie as well! He demands to know where he is. Why, this is where they govern the decisions of the F-Zero committee! The committee's funding comes from Don Genie, but Black Shadow is the real head of the organization! He wishes to have Rick under his power; after all, even the power of the Reactor Mights are unmatched by that of the savior of the galaxy. Rick's obviously not going to join under his own volition, but that's not an issue: Black Shadow reveals a containment pod designed to erase the memories of anyone within it. He's had great success using it on Miss Killer. Now he's really mad! Rick tears out of the web and raises his pistol, but the two villains shrug off his threat and have Deathborn lift him up and toss him in the pod. It fills with green liquid that Black Shadow explains will slowly erase his memories until he's nothing but a blank slate, although he's still able to breathe is unknown. His long and lonely battle is over. He should take a load off. Rick is almost willing to give in, but voices of his friends and allies drift into his thoughts. He is not alone. Every step he has taken along this path has been for the sake of the people he loves and cherishes; he can't fail them now, and they would never fail him. Even in Dark Million's headquarters, Miss Killer is praying for Rick's safe return. A roar of defiance bellows from his lungs, and the Reactor Might within his Dragon Bird also gives him strength - enough to shatter the pod he's in! He calls his machine's name and it comes bursting through the wall, allowing him to hop in and make his escape. Black Shadow summons the Black Bull to block his exit; did he think he could escape unaided? Speak of the devil, another machine bursts through the chamber walls - it's Berserker in the Red Bull! It skims passed the three villains before revealing its true colors... All this time the Red Bull has been a cover-up for the Blue Falcon...! And it's pilot? Why, beneath that cloak lies the familiar face of Captain Falcon! The three villains are bamboozled by his surprise reappearance, and can do naught but stare in awe. Captain Falcon gives Rick the signal, and the two initiate their Spin Boosters, carrying them through the air and right out of the station into space. Don Genie blames a "miscalculation" for this massive oversight. While aboard the Galaxy Runner looking for Rick, they receive a message from the man himself: he's safe, he's on his way back...and he's bringing a friend with him. The group rush to the windows and can't believe their eyes: it's the Falcon Flyer! The two ships join courses and make their way back to Earth. Rick pays a long overdue visit to the Falcon House, and finds a familiar face waiting for him...Burt Lemming. While brewing up Rick's order, Burt explains that he had infiltrated the F-Zero committee after hearing of its rising criminal influence, and laments having left Clank alone for so long. 2004年9月7日Miss Killer awakens in her containment pod, her sleep plagued by nightmares of Black Shadow. She's curious to know more about the "glorious dream" he's been talking about and makes her way into the computer room. The computer demands a password, however, and she doesn't know it. Upon leaving she's accosted by Zoda who wishes to know what's in it there and who let her in; even he hasn't permission to enter that room! She bluffs that Black Shadow gave her command of the entire area...only for the master himself to appear, listening intently. Zoda repeats what she said to him, only for Black Shadow to laugh in his face, scolding him for trying to cause trouble. After Zoda storms off, Black Shadow genuinely gives Miss Killer control of the area, and she ponders to himself what reason he would have for that. Has he laid a trap for her? She returns to the computer and makes another attempt at sasing out the password...and she eventually gets it. "REACTORMIGHT". The computer reveals schematics for the Reactor Might, including who holds each of the 6 Reactors and what power they hold when brought together. She copies the information to a data chip, believing it to be valuable to Rick's cause. As she makes her way to the hangar she meets Octoman and Bio Rex, who express sympathy over Zoda treating her like she's an enemy. She boards the Moon Shadow and readies the warp gate only for Zoda to bang on her windshield, eager to know where she's skiving off to. Miss Killer claims to be on an errand for Black Shadow and departs to Mute City...unaware that Black Shadow saw the whole thing. Rick, Jack and Lucy are drinking their troubles away at the Falcon House, and Miss Killer is on Rick's mind again - Jack tells him to forget about her, there's no way that broad could be Haruka. He leaves to resume his training, and thinks of all the responsibilities that fall upon him as savior of the galaxy. There's no time to be thinking of dead girlfriends when so much more is at stake. That night, Miss Killer sits outside of Rick's apartment trying to decide if she should give him the information or not. An order to return to base forces her to leave, as Black Shadow wants to know what she's up to. She claims to have been investigating, but all Black Shadow wishes of her is to defeat Rick in the upcoming race. Zoda doesn't believe she's up to it, but Black Shadow is only interested in the Reactor Mights. Miss Killer spies on Rick at the stadium, eager to deliver the intel but she's still conflicted over her alliances. Lucy spies her snooping on Rick, and as the Dragon Bird enters the track the Moon Shadow isn't far behind. Miss Killer tries to speak to him, but he pays no attention to her, only focused on his practice. Given her repeated assassination attempts under Black Shadow's control, she only got herself to blame. The race begins proper, and the Dragon Bird and Moon Shadow are fiercely clashing against each other, though Rick has no time for petty rivalries - he's got a race to win. She only wishes to deliver the data chip to him, but Octoman and Bio Rex are quick to rally behind her supposed cause and begin teaming up to give Rick a hard time. Of all the times to get an unwanted favor...! With a bit of brute force, Rick slams the two machines right off the course and carries on his way, agitated over Miss Killer's persistence. Just as she's catching up, Captain Falcon arrives to pound her machine, eager to prevent Dark Million from winning. And after he's done his bit, Lucy arrives to give her machine a few bruises! Miss Killer is in no mood for this ongoing assault, but the two machines are locked into bitter combat, eventually throwing them off the side of the track. Lucy clambers out of her machine to shout at Miss Killer to never bother Rick again, calling her out on all the heartache she's caused. She forces the data chip into Lucy's hands, ordering her to deliver it to Rick - this is a matter of life and death! - before driving off with The Skull. This has gotta be a trap, Lucy muses. She takes it back to Platoon HQ that night, eager to tell Jody of the events that occurred off the race track, but she's too busy too listen to her. She needs to get this off her chest, so she chooses to wait outside Rick's apartment in the pouring rain until he arrives home. The chip is finally in Rick's hands as Lucy tells him of what happened, how serious Miss Killer looked as she told of the data's utmost importance. Rick reflects on all the trouble that woman has given her, but this is no time to get bitter; they have to decode the chip! In Black Shadow's throne room, Zoda presents his master with video footage of Miss Killer's betrayal - her copying the data in the computer room, and The Skull witnessing her delivering the data to Lucy Liberty. Her mind control must have failed, reverting her back to Haruka! Black Shadow reacts to the news with his trademark laughter; this is nothing to worry about. Miss Killer is still of use to him, and her final task may be approaching soon... The data chip is returned to Platoon HQ where Jody and Dr. Stewart help decode it. Information on the Reactor Might appears...before a video message from Black Shadow takes over the screen, with one simple message: Miss Killer is Haruka Misaki. Rick takes the news badly and retires to the observation room. Lucy is sorry for having ever brought him the chip - partly because he's no longer single - but Rick's resolve only strengthens. Knowing his girlfriend is under Black Shadow's control only gives him more reason to defeat him...! The Moon Shadow returns to its hangar, and Miss Killer barely has the willpower to get up - she has nowhere left to go. Rick and the Platoon treat her like an enemy, and even Dark Million are distrusting of her. She meanders through the hallways until Zoda finds her, cackling that their master knows about her secret. He begs her to reveal what she saw in the computer room...but Black Shadow intrudes, thanking Miss Killer for going to such lengths to deliver his message to Rick.
