After noticing the change in Emiliko, Kate reads the girl's notebook and takes action to bring her back to her normal self. The elder Shadows visit a nearby village and the origins of living dolls are revealed. When Emiliko vanishes, Kate goes to John who ends up fighting with Shaun.
