Kate notices a change in Emiliko and reads her notebook to restore her normal state. Elder Shadows visit a nearby village, revealing the origins of living dolls. When Emiliko vanishes, Kate seeks help from John, leading to a fight with Shaun. Later, the co-debutantes meet, and Louise reveals the identity of Emiliko's abductor.
