Genbanojou

In the cone-shaped region of Kikyougahara within Shin Province, a kind-hearted girl named Hana lives with a deep care for her family, especially her great-grandmother Chiyo, whom she calls "Granny." When a traveling performance group called the Natsugawa Genzaemon Troupe visits, the villagers greet them with warmth. After their successful show, the troupe leader, upon seeing Hana holding a dish he loves, becomes excited and reveals his true form as a fox. The leader, Genbanojou, along with O-Natsu and Shinzaemon, are actually foxes in human guise. To keep their identities hidden, Genbanojou offers Hana a single wish in return. She expresses a desire for her Granny to witness the cherry blossoms.
