Shuuji and Chise are high school students in their final year in Hokkaido. Chise, who is reserved, decides to confess to Shuuji, and the two begin exchanging diaries in a somewhat awkward manner. During an unexpected enemy air raid on Sapporo, Shuuji attempts to flee and witnesses a shocking sight. He sees Chise using a massive weapon seemingly attached to her hand, destroying enemy aircraft one after another.
