Kogoro, Ran, and Conan encounter a cluster of men disputing in the hospital. Apparently, they all belong to a company named "Aizawa Foods". The president of the company is Kenzo Aizawa, and they are Ryoichi, the eldest son of the president; Reiji, the second son of the president respectively. With the addition of Masaru Bando, who is the managing director, that keeps calming them down. The reason for their argument seems to be that their father, Kenzo, was sent to the operating room. The three of them explain to Kogoro that Kenzo fell down inside the refrigerated warehouse. At the same time, the surgery has finished, and everyone approaches him and asks concerning his condition.
