One month has passed since Shūrei became a royal consort. Ryūki kept his promise to Shūrei and gradually started to get involved with political affairs. One evening, out of the blue, Ryūki pays a visit to the Royal Harem carrying roses in his hand. Shūrei is flattered by this change of heart, but is taken aback when she realizes that Ryūki cut his hands up when he gathered the roses for her. She tends to his wounds and recounts the story of Rose Princess to her audience of one.
