Yona and her companions arrive at a hot springs hotel, greeted by an elderly, sleepy owner. Jae-Ha notices Kija has avoided the men's bath and discovers claw-shaped scars on his back, suspecting the previous White Dragon Warrior caused them. Jae-Ha attempts to distract Hak while Kija washes at a well, but Kija exposes his back when a spider crawls on him, prompting Jae-Ha to kill it. Flashbacks reveal Kija was attacked by his father, the predecessor, at birth and could only see him under supervision. When his father fell ill, Kija visited alone, witnessing his father's dragon claw transform into a human hand before embracing him as he died. The group departs the hotel the next day to continue their journey.
