Yona's group visits a hot springs hotel where Kija's mysterious back scar is revealed.
Sep 18, 2015Yona and her companions arrive at a hot springs hotel, greeted by an elderly, sleepy owner. Jae-Ha notices Kija has avoided the men's bath and discovers claw-shaped scars on his back, suspecting the previous White Dragon Warrior caused them. Jae-Ha attempts to distract Hak while Kija washes at a well, but Kija exposes his back when a spider crawls on him, prompting Jae-Ha to kill it. Flashbacks reveal Kija was attacked by his father, the predecessor, at birth and could only see him under supervision. When his father fell ill, Kija visited alone, witnessing his father's dragon claw transform into a human hand before embracing him as he died. The group departs the hotel the next day to continue their journey.

Flashback reveals Zeno's origins as the Yellow Dragon Warrior under King Hiryuu's command.
Aug 19, 2016While the group holds a campfire drinking contest that Jae-Ha wins by default, Yona nearly confesses her feelings to Hak. A flashback details Zeno's early days as the Yellow Dragon Warrior, where he felt inadequate compared to King Hiryuu and the original warriors: Gu-En, Abi, and Shu-Ten. Despite lacking combat skills, Zeno possesses rapid healing abilities. King Hiryuu is astonished by this power and awards Zeno the crest given by the dragon gods. As humans flee or perish from dragon powers, the group faces increasing danger. After King Hiryuu passes away, his comrades bid Zeno a heartfelt farewell before departing for twenty years. Zeno remains to guard the castle, eventually realizing his friends have died of old age. He then single-handedly defeats an entire army while mourning their loss.

Zeno’s Past Part Two: The Red Star Ascends
Dec 19, 2016Zeno tracks dragon warrior descendants, surviving an arrow attack to care for the dying Kaya. He marries her, holds her hand as she rots, then seeks King Hiryuu’s descendants. He meets four-year-old Kija, two-year-old Shin-Ah, and nine-year-old Jae-Ha. In the present, Zeno hugs his friends, causing discomfort. Jae-Ha forfeits a drinking contest win to Yoon, who opted out due to chores. A post-credits scene shows Yona asking Hak to sleep with her to avoid ghosts, but she admits to nightmares of his death, leading him to comfort her.
