Ep. 1: Yuzuru Otonashi wakes in the afterlife, meets Yuri and Angel, and joins the SSS for Operation Tornado.

Yuzuru Otonashi awakens in the afterlife with no memory of his life. He encounters Yuri Nakamura aiming a sniper rifle at the student council president, Angel. Yuri invites him to join the SSS, but Otonashi speaks with Angel, who reveals that everyone is dead. When Otonashi requests proof, Angel kills him. He dies a hundred times the next day before waking up in the SSS room with core members. Yuri explains the afterlife and their conflict with Angel. That night, the group launches Operation Tornado to steal meal tickets from non-player characters. The affiliated band Girls Dead Monster performs in the cafeteria to create a distraction while some members fight Angel. The SSS retreats to the cafeteria to use the tickets, where Otonashi attempts to process the events.
