On her seventeenth birthday, Meg is told she has a year remaining to live. Her mentor, the immortal witch Faust, reveals that a curse has been placed on her. To survive, she must cultivate a seed of life using one thousand tears of joy. These tears are difficult to obtain, prompting Meg to embark on a journey. As she helps those around her—friends and neighbors—she becomes more involved in their lives. Through supporting them and using her magic to ease their struggles, she discovers the value of shared moments, even when facing her own mortality.
