Yamada attempts to seduce Kosuda in a darkroom, but a power outage leads to an accidental touch before she flees. Kosuda pursues her by bicycle, offering a ride home. Later, Yamada volunteers as a ghost for the class haunted house to kiss Kosuda, but he does not appear. Instead, she competes in a School Festival Queen contest, narrowly defeating transfer student Kyoka Kanejō. Kosuda watches, believing her victory makes her more distant, unaware she waits for him at the bonfire dance. He hesitates before rushing to join her. Although the song ends while they wait in line, they continue dancing for a long time, delighting Yamada despite her initial denial of excitement.
